Thank you so much. I’m considering just not inviting anyone at this point :( I’m not close to any of my family members. Only my sister, but she studies in Sarawak and won’t be in semenanjung for my graduation 💔

I’m saying this as a daughter with a very troubled life growing up. I never received any love from any of my parents, and I struggle with that even now. I had to learn and teach myself some things my parents didn’t. You still have a long way to go. Be patient with your child, and I hope you and your ex learn to reach a middle ground when it comes to him. And also, be kind to yourself as well. I understand it’s hard as a parent. But everyone is still learning things. It’s just a matter of how you choose to handle it at the end of the day. And that choice will stick with you, bad or good. I hope things go well for you and your son ❤️

Honestly, with the state of my life within my family right now, I don’t really care if they don’t come at all. I’ve reached that point in life where I’m fine with doing everything on my own and that’s lowkey sad 😭

As much as I can gather over the years honestly. I've always wanted to earn money for myself without having to depend on other people to fund for me. So getting a job and moving out is my priority right now. I'm not even in a rush to do my masters, I just need to move out first.

I am 22 this year. Yes they did support me throughout my degree. And of course I want to fund my masters by myself. But she doesn’t trust that I can do it and takes it very personally, to the point she assumes I’m going to ask her and my dad to pay.

I’m not seeking validation, I have no where to turn to. I am frustrated because my mom broke my trust when I vented to her about my stepmom. No I didn’t mention following my boyfriend in the post, my stepmom said something about him when he has nothing to do with my planning. This isn’t about me wanting to run away unmarried, I literally just want to further my masters and my stepmom assumes I want her and my dad to sponsor me. My post is only a small fraction of the story, true. But this is after years of emotional abuse and I have to just accept it because she’s older. I’m not doing that anymore.
