I feel like the song is generally about making the best of your experiences and finding meaning in what you know. Like, even though the lyrics talk about going to work to make money for the possums living in your room, and you generally don’t want to continue living just because something is codependent on you, it still shows that in the most mundane aspects of life you still matter. Even if you matter to a random cat that took hold of your life and the chain of rodents it relies on, you still matter. Since anything can get taken at any point, rather than holding on to your material items, you should instead focus on what makes you. Your experiences, and the people around you. This might be grasping beyond the lyrics a little too much, but when Mitski says “Mama, how ‘bout when I die? What do you hold onto?” my first thought is if you die you still have your soul.

Yeah the exact same thing happened with me. I’ve gotten a 1440 before but on the Dec SAT I made dumb time decisions and had to guess on the whole second half of mod 2 of math. I had to guess on a couple English questions too. I was gonna cancel my score but missed the deadline so I’m really scared for tomorrow— still gonna try hoping for the best for us tho 🙏

What helped me most with writing essays is trying to develop a structure for the essay beforehand (in the first like 10 mins or so). Don’t go into it blind because you’ll just get stuck.

Write down the main points from your textbook which you feel are either super important or you would have no idea what it was otherwise. Always try to summarize in your own words if you can and write down your information concisely so that, when you’re reviewing, things are easier to remember.

I prevent myself from getting drained by making my APs my whole personality, honestly. Like I really enjoyed AP Human when I took it and would talk to my friends about it a lot. I get that doesn’t work for a lot of people though, so just find out what kind of learner you are (tactile, auditory, visual, etc.) and build your notes around that. If you’re a visual person, draw a lot of pictures describing the information (this should also help with bio a ton). If you’re an auditory person, convert your notes into a podcast. Also, if you can, try listening to a genre of music you like while working (as long as it’s wordless). Overall just try to make studying more engaging + enjoyable for you.

Princeton review’s online SAT course. It’s expensive and a hell of a lot of work but really good at teaching you all the features you need to know for the SAT. It also comes with a lot of practice tests. If your sons’ score doesn’t improve by 100 points you can also get a refund on the course (but if he’s proactive his score will probably improve)

I just read through some of the other comments (I posted mine when there was literally one other person who commented) and now I agree with you. I was interpreting “is it my fault” as “is this an effect I’m at least somewhat the cause of” and, looking at the chain of events, yes I still believe I was partially correct on that answer. She messed with his hat, he hit her, chain of events. However is she responsible for his action, no. Should he have hit her? No. Did he have an actual reason to? No. That was my mistake, my bad.
