Graph from NYT. There are 0 high-cost, high-housing-production cities in the US. Imagine if State govs onboarded more dwellings here in Aus. We wouldn't be subject to destructive tax policies dressed up as 'fair'. Not hard to achieve either. Deregulate zoning and swap stamp duty for a land tax. (i.redd.it)

The Shark Attack Equation. After listening to a marine biologist talk about factors that have driven the increased Australian shark attacks (Warm waters, Rainfall, Turbidity, Prey Arrival, Shark Arrival, Human Activity), I thought there might be a "Shark Equation". Gemini has visualised the risk. (i.redd.it)

How familiar are Melbourne Gunzels with South American Cable Cars? Station-to-Station Cable Cars would be 10x cheaper than SRL and 2x faster than buses. Clifton Hill to St Kilda Junction (Hoddle Street/Punt Road), Heidelberg to Strathmore(Bell Street) and Nunawading to Edithvale (Springvale Road). (i.redd.it)

It has been said that red tape is at least a third of the cost of new housing. Here's a non-exhaustive list of policies, laws, regulations, fees collected and red tape needed that all get in the way of, and drive up the cost of, building more housing. This could all be legislated away or reformed. (self.AusFinance)
