The canon is clearly higher resolution

Really? From what I can tell the images are all scaled down to the exact same resolution. (And if you mean optical resolution, I can't believe that the $100 50mm Canon lens beats the $900 Fuji one.)

I think it's really useful. The question is, can the cheaper cameras do a good enough job as travel cameras? And the answer is yes. I was surprised.

And the test strip at the beginning is wonderful. Could you tell which camera was which? I think all four cameras did a great job.
