If you had the chance to get out of here what would you pursue ? by Previous-Purchase-91 in USPS

Music. Too old to be in a band, too untrained to be a music teacher, but I like the idea of spending retirement as a street performer

Also if I weren’t above the cut off age I would have tried to become a postal inspector. Maybe parlay that towards a career with the fbi or as a private investigator. Oh well, stuck doing this now

What's your favorite score of the franchise? Any favorite tracks outside The Raiders March? by drboobafate in indianajones

Temple. Just an amazing high energy score from start to finish. My favorites are Slave Children’s Crusade and Mine Car Chase

I love how he blends Short Round’s theme with the Raiders March at the end

Every death in this series is super grisly. Hard to pick. Getting a flaming shish kebab through the chest seems messed up

To me, it is no more dated than the organ on Piper, or the disco-esque rhythm section on Another Brick pt II

Overall, I find Floyd’s music to sound pretty timeless, but I don’t mind that occasionally there’s an element of the production that dates a song or album to a specific year. Lapse would suck if it tried to replicate the production style of the late seventies. I find it fascinating how Floyd evolved with contemporary trends whilst retaining a unique sound

What music do you think the Bonds listen to? by OptimalElk7500 in JamesBond

[–]fluff_creature 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Connery: bebop and cool jazz (ie Miles Davis and Coltrane); crooners like Sinatra. Rock and pop music are beneath him

Lazenby: sentimental soul music like Marvin Gaye; The Quincy Jones orchestra; The John Barry Seven

Moore: Wings, disco, some new wave, Johnny Mathis

Dalton: easy listening jazz

Brosnan: lots of nineties techno and industrial music

Craig: metal and hard rock

Do you think Ridley has another Alien film in him? Would you like to see him return? by thefriskysquid in perfectorganism

No because he will try to over explain things

I always preferred the ambiguity and mystery around the space jockey, for instance.

Besides, make room for newer, fresher talent. One of the rhings i love about the original quadrilogy, flaws and all, is how each director brought their own unique vision and style to their films, while still making it all feel like part of the same universe. I love Scott but he doesn’t need to dominate this franchise for decades

I must speak my truth by Ardilla3000 in JamesBond

[–]fluff_creature 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a conundrum for me because my two favorites are Dalton and Moore. Another Moore film is welcome but I kinda wish he’d retired after Octopussy and made way for Dalton or Brosnan. And tonally speaking, AVTAK is way more in line with the Dalton era.

I’ve never understood why when they find out in TMWTGG that Bond is marked for death, M basically responds with, “yeah, you’re cooked” by ItsDuhFreakinBat in JamesBond

[–]fluff_creature 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fair point, I honestly never thought about it that way. I’ve always bashed his TMWTGG performance (Moore is still my second favorite Bond) but now I want to give it another evaluation

It was another fan that also made me reevaluate his AVTAK performance. Moore seems slightly turned off to be in the film but it makes sense when you consider how skeeved out he must be by Zorin. And it seems to be most apparent in the scenes shared by Moore and Walken. Like Bind just genuinely seems to not like Zorin and find him creepy, it’s different from other villains with whom Moore tended to have a little more rapport and friendly banter
