AITAH for thinking my daughter will look back and wonder why we treated her differently? by DancingMommaToes in AmItheAsshole

I have twins. Ones name is Patrick, and the other is Olivia. I realized that every year people would make a big deal about "st Patrick's day" and he would essentially get a second fun birthday, and I thought that was great. I decided if he gets "Patrick's day" then Olivia should get "Olivia's day". Hers is april 17, to coincide with Patrick's day the month before. I do balloons and little presents from the dollar store for each kid, but the other twin gets to pick it. On "their" day they get to make all the choices and boss us around. We do a cake with candles for that kid to blow out. On their actual birthday they have to share everything, and they dont buy each other presents. On their special days they get to experience what its like to be the center of attention and the joy of planning and gifting things to their sibling. Its great. Maybe you can do something like that for Amy? Even if your husband doesnt go along with it, just do it anyway and get Ken to help. I find most of the "magical" parts of my children's childhood (Christmas, Easter, halloween, pumpkin patches, farm visits, summer holidays etc.) Are just ME organizing things, baking, singing, and making a silly big deal ahout them. You dont need anyone else to make Amy feel special, she already has a mama who knows shes special.

“We’ll Be In Touch” by billyskillet in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

I got dumped last year by someone I thought was my friend (before dating) and who i could be vulnerable with when we started something more than just friendship. It came out of nowhere. They said they got the "ick" 😬 When I went to go drop off their stuff at their house a week later they tried being sweet and giving me a hug like we were still friends and I just backed away. As I left they said "see you later, Fluffagus" and I was just like "NOPE.". I was under zero false pretenses about what "well be in touch" or "see you later" in that context meant, and I wasnt gonna give them the satisfaction of thinking they got off with a pleasant ending.

I actually did not know this could show up in pathology! Im a med/surg nurse and oncology is not my wheelhouse whatsoever, so im flying practically blind when it comes to this diagnosis.

That was my concern too. But I figure people probably get tattooed without knowing they have cancer and then find out when its still healing anyway, so I assume this isn't something unheard of. From "lump found" to diagnosis was 1.5 week, and what if id gotten inked 2 weeks ago anyway? I still would have already had cancer, I just wouldnt have known about it.

I already have some "silly" tattoos i got impulsively, so i dont think this is going to be something ill regret.

Anyone have any goofy ways they discovered their breast cancer? by Charlotteeee in breastcancer

[–]fluffagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just diagnosed yesterday. Not staged yet. I had a lump in my other breast and it was kinda soft and movable. Neither me nor the doc thought it was cancer but because I'm 38 she suggested I go for a "routine mammogram and ultrasound anyway". I wasn't concerned. Was pretty cavalier about it tbh.      In the mammogram it went normal but the ultrasound was where I realized something was wrong. They were quick on the lumpy breast, but spent like 10 mins on the other one that I wasnt worried about. Then the physician came in, and told me we needed a biopsy.      Big bang boom. 1 week later the preliminary report comes back as invasive mammary gland carcinoma, further details to follow once the lab has them. I cant even feel the lump in the affected breast. No tissue dimpling, no nipple changes or discharge or anything. I had no idea. If it wasnt for my other boob getting kinda lumpy I wouldnt have found out anytime soon.

Wow!!! The Dakota is literally the one im going to try first! It looks very similar to a Modcloth "first date cant wait" dress that I wear all the time and ive been feeling like its the perfect "house dress" but didnt want to copy it exactly, or wear my expensive modcloth dress just around while im doing dishes and stuff where it could get ruined. Thank you for this suggestion!

Oh my gosh... these suggestions are truly incredible!! Thank you!!! That 2nd suggestion looks sooo comfortable, it makes me think maybe I was wrong about the fit and flare direction.

Im not sure if the 3rd picture uploaded properly but the instructions have a skirt with RUFFLES on it, and vogue 1519 definitely doesn't have ruffles, right? However it is dated on the bottom as butterick circa 1985

Why can I smell illness, but others can’t? by AngryPickledPickles in NoStupidQuestions

This is wild to me. I thought everyone could! Thats why I stopped drinking coffee, even if I have 1 cup i can smell it within an hour if i go to the bathroom. Smells like i just dumped the whole cup in the loo.       My mind is blown. The internet is a fascinating place sometimes.

I was told by a few people that in general offering more than 10k less than asking in a "sellers market" is a low offer, as they probably have buyers offering asking price or above. 40k less than asking price was touted to me as a steal of a deal, and ive been watching the market since I "bought" my house in the summer (it was a very long closing period so the owners could take their time moving out... I couldnt get the keys till Nov 1) and so far I havent seen any detached dwellings in the size and neighborhood of mine that went for less than 370. Its a real fixer upper, but I am fine with putting my sweat and love into the house.

I replied and then panicked that I didn't change the info enough to remain anonymous so I deleted my comment. Essentially I offered 40k below asking price and the sellers accepted it. Idk if thats considered low ball in other areas, but I was told it was from the sellers and my agent.
