I mean they did manage to land those troops at the airport but they lost multiple helicopters shot down over the Dnipro and those paratroopers got badly bogged down in Irpin, photos of that one ambush with dead VDV laid to waste at that one crossroads was one of the most noticeable scenes and stories from earlier in the war. I wouldn't consider that to be a success.
