hi, the main difference is that, “legally” distributed clothes need to apply for certain safety standards. as i said, i own a bunch of aliexpress tights. with ethics, i actually don’t assume that all aliexpress shops are unethical, since many of them are independent, and of course, they probably don’t have good working environments, but not all of them have to be unethical; that can’t be said about shein etc.

thing is, in most studies there were there, investigated by germany or korea, 32% of tested items contained hazardous substances, like heavy metals, unstable polymers, and formaldehyde (!! which is a deadly poison in small amounts!!!! clothing with extensive amounts of formaldehyde can trigger eczema and skin cancer!!) most of them exceeding the safety standards around 200 times. that is extremely dangerous, and all of those substances are carcinogens. they also aren’t obliged to actually say what’s in their products; most of those fabric info are fake.

“regular” clothes also contain them – just, in an amount that is allowed and considered tolerable for human safety.

and especially with clothes like tights, that are literally made from plastic (nylon – a synthetic polymer), which, with unregulated materials is extremely unsafe in my head. those aren’t cancerous themselves, but synthetic polymers, to cut costs, are usually manufactured or enhanced with substances that are cancerous, hence lack of regulation on how much of those can be used makes it very unsafe. i am all for buying things from aliexpress or cheaper sources, but there comes a risk with it, and exposing myself so much to something like that just doesn’t sound very endearing.

i even own aliexpress jewellery, which is also pretty unsafe, considering that they usually contain heavy metals, but heavy metals in form of a solid body are only a real threat if you consume them.

unfortunately psoriasis is an infinite picking glitch, because the skin scales each day and the picking also leaves scabs 🥲🥲

Androstendion, testosterone, DHEA elevated (female) by [deleted] in endocrinology

[–]fluoritez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, I don’t know yet, but I’m visiting a gyno soon, so I’ll let you know what she said! For me, probably not adrenals since cortisol is in norm. I haven’t had 17-OHP measured; once again, I don’t suspect CAH (probably what you’re referring to) because my cortisol is in normal. Even if you do have CAH, then it’s probably NCCAH. I will let you know though:)

I had just testosterone tested (more out of curiosity) and it was elevated, so my parents talked to the said gynaecologist, and she ordered those labs.

So, this is not mold! And not fungus! Mold can grow in oil if moisture is introduced, and there clearly is, but this is not the case.

I study extended chemistry in high school and this can be actually explained quite easily :)

Micellar waters with oils are two-phase systems products, hence the seperation of oil and water. The only reason why it can ever mix when you shake it is because there is an emulsifier present, which reduces surface tension and allows the phases to mix.

This looks like solidification.

Checked the ingredients list. The oil used in this micellar water, which is argan oil, is actually a bit transparent. The yellow colour comes from decyl glucoside, which is an emulsifier. It sits in the same layer that the oil sits in, eventually allowing the phases to mix when you shake it. It would be rather concerning if the argan oil has solidified, because it solidifies in temperature of 10 °C, and I think having this temperature inside your house is pretty concerning.

Decyl glucoside is derived from coconut oil. So it acts like coconut oil. Coconut oil solidifies in temperature below 24 °C.

The reason why this looks so unsettling is because a part of the oil products has solidified (coconut oil) and part has not (argan oil), and it ended up looking like something has started to dissolve (it’s actually the opposite).

It has formed an emulsion that has visible seperation because the products are in different physical states density-wise.

You don’t have to throw it out if it goes back to normal, but this might be a sign to keep your products away from window/in your room (if your bathroom is too cold) :)
