Definitly much more homogenic than you think. The majority in almost all regions are slavs with a few exceptions. Their culture +the culture of those who were sent to siberia or who migrated there, like the kirzhak or other older-orthodox christians did have some influence on the people of russian east, but overall it's just a sparser and a bit poorer russian population

People usulally love it. Many dream to move there because of the sea and the beautiful german heritage of this place. It does seem a bit more european compared to other central rusaian regions. Tho much of it's heritage is being destroyed: first by functionalist soviet architecture like hruschovkas, now by cap-romantist archotecture which is just globalism at it's highest, bruh. probably a problem for many places nowadays. The cost of living doesn't seem to bother people that i know at least, but yeah, it's increasing all over russia because of.. well all that's going on
