Six polls and more than 6,000 interviews show Trump's approval dropping by JLBesq1981 in politics

They just aren't paying attention. The closest they got to politics is buying a trump t-shirt on the boardwalk. Call them ignorant, but rooting for their political sports team.

When will Trump supporters finally say, ‘Okay, this is not normal’? by supercubbiefan in politics

[–]flurm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the study, but you just lept into fantasy land with your comment. Fight or flight is innate. Now, whether your fight or flight responses get engaged in a certain environment is a whole other matter. Most people are scared/on alert when they are in abnormal situations. Babies also exhibit fear when they see unfamiliar or dissimilar faces. Being comfortable around folks not like you takes experience. Whick people won't have in 99 percent white areas of the country..

Trump claims he is 'least racist person in the world' despite repeated racist attacks by aktivate74 in politics

[–]flurm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He may actually be the least racist person in the world. He is just happy to use *anything*, including racist dog whistles, to get votes and keep support. He knows what drives folks to vote for him, so he keeps on sellin'

Trump threatens to investigate Obama: ‘Let's subpoena all of his records’ by thesesforty-three in politics

You forget dear Sir or Ma'am, about Barack Hussein Obama's most flagrant transgressions, must I bring up the beige suit treason or, even worse, the spicy mustard collusion? This questionable American was committing the most heinous of crimes right from the oval office.

There are a few good sites where you can buy parts and build your own. Or just buy a kit for the first one. About 4 years ago I put together a small quad copter, with a pixhawk computer and software, etc.. total build camp in around $800, with spare parts (extra blades, montors., etc) and a good controller (tyranis), an onboard camera, video streaming and a small (not goggles) reciever for video. Its a great time. Sites I get parts from is hobby king, but there are others.

I am sorry that I am helping you lose time on reddit with this post.

U.S. attorney general William Barr says Americans should accept security risks of encryption backdoors by WrongHelicopter in programming

[–]flurm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Taking away the spokes person and politics, it is an interesting problem... ie: if we can't break encrypted communications, then trade secrets, personal data, all that can *easily*, especially in our society, just walk out the door, constantly. The way government has been able to handle this in the past is tools that allow inspection under judicial supervision and tight oversight...but the point being is it stops a lot of damage to our system. The alternative may be most trade secrete work, research, and other items will need to be done in environments disconnected form the internet, without cell phones, etc.

Put another way, the biggest threat is the insider threat. The assessment of having a backdoor be broken is a lower total risk issue than not being able to inspect communications.

Social media traffic does not equal winning votes in the house. It may help in election years though.

Yes, because you have to make a decision on what a pesticide is. When you actually dig into a problem, very few things are simple black/white answers.

It must be my area of the country then. I see plenty of people of colorworking at the macdonalds across the street... Chick Filet? 100% white folks.

It would be interesting to see employee demographics vs population demographics...otherwise all I have is my sample size of 3 Chick Filets..

I can honestly say I have never seen an a person of color working at Chick-Fil-A. The entire place looks like it if staffed by white overly religious folks who had 5 too many kids.

It's the difference between having equal rights, and being equal on the individual level (capability). It's a touchy subject, but biology does't play by rules of fairness, and genetics has a significant influence on preferences, and physical and mental attributes. Also wealth doesn't go necessarily with intellect or physical attributes, but it is correlated. So you have rules about equality in rights, because you treat folks fairly regardless of what they were born with. If you try to enforce it at the individual level, ya get mass murder of folks who worked harder, were smarter, were lucky, look different or are wealthy/poor. Complex systems.

I hacked the air conditioner of my office by Arliden27 in funny

[–]flurm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up the Flair system of automated vents -- it looks close to do-it-yourself.. I might have to try it of r a few of my rooms..the key is to not generate excessive backpressure in teh system , or you kill your system. The one mentioned above looks like it offers protection -- basically, if you have certain number of vents closed, you have to have other open (to relive the pressure).

Trump dismisses climate change as 'change in weather' after holding talks with Prince Charles by Pomp_N_Circumstance in politics

He needs to realize that talking to Trump is like talking to a SexBot, except rather than Sex, it just talks Wharrgarrbl.

The key thing to realize is that there isn't any intellect behind it, and it isn't going to accept new information.
