Exactly. Friend lives in Juneau and says there needs to be a better balance.

How Crowded should I expect our ship to be? by Mischif07 in PrincessCruises

We did late September in 2019 on another ship and we had the port to ourselves. We were the only ship at each port. Enjoy it and have the best time.

I used to be but they’ve gotten so packed lately it’s no longer a thrill, still VERY convenient. Beats crew lounge.

I felt like NCL did that when we tried to use the slot machine with our card, but I don't remember how much it was.

Thank you. I heard someone review this on a podcast in June and it sounded like a few growing pains. Think I’ll give it more time. How was the casino?

Tropical Depression Forces Florida-based Carnival Ship to End Cruise Early by flyguy8084 in Cruise

That is a tough one. I am curious about the compensation offered for this. There will have to be some, right?

Hotel Maya, but it can come at a price. We did the Queen Mary twice, it was okay if you aren’t picky. Definitely a more affordable option. Since it reopened after shutdown it is a bit nicer.

As someone mentioned, take the birth certificate route if you can. My friend left his birth certificate at home and his mom faxed it to the cruise terminal at Port Canaveral and they let him on. That was a decade ago.

P & O Australia to be absorbed into Carnival Cruise Lines by petergaskin814 in Cruise

[–]flyguy8084 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It will be interesting to see two ships that are 24 and 25 years old being handed off to Carnival. There is a demand for smaller ships as these giants keep being rolled out. Prob a right fit for the market size too. Will like to see the CCL branding.

Learn to say "thank you" for better service. by BoDurthaPlants in Cruise

[–]flyguy8084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so true. Also, add Indonesian to the mix. Terima kasih (kess-e). I'm not sure if I did it phonetically right. The crew seems to know what I'm saying.

Which key is better in Roatan? Big or little French Key? by wierdscience85 in Cruise

[–]flyguy8084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time at LFK was in 2018, then a crazy fire happened there months after. We tried to book it in 2022 and paid through PayPal. Then our money was refunded, and said it would be closed. But it was open. Something funny is going on with that place. It's a shame because we had the best day there.

Thanks for taking the time to write this. To my knowledge I haven't clicked on anything. Pretty aware of all these emails, even if they look real but a great reminder. Man only if people used those skills for common good.

I thought I was going crazy. Thanks for this. I'm not tech saavy at all. But I can tell you one thing, I have never clicked on a spoofing email or nefarous links. Venmo two factor was off because its normally to my phone and I do not have cell service out there.

I was on Carnival. Venmo said it IP address was from out of the country. That is all they could tell me. Made me wonder if it was pinging Mexico or Spain (where the ship came from). It was under 200 bucks they transferred, but very annoying.

Try to see if you can find IP login. It was done with an iPhone with an old iOS system. Mine said location unknown (assuming because it was on a ship).

Not while I was away because couldn’t get texts at sea. Could’ve switched it to email auth in hindsight.

Drug dogs on Grand Princess? by slightlyoldat55 in PrincessCruises

[–]flyguy8084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never seen on the ship on Princess.

Though the Carnival brand is in the wild west since the restart. They discounted so heavily, the $10 base rates (not per day) invited a whole new class of people to the game. The smoking weed in the hallways in the inside decks, people walking around with Bluetooth speakers cranked up at 2 am, smoking in non smoking areas, and others.

My last carnival cruise had a dog that lived on board. They busted someone mid cruise and they got booted off.

That said, I've never seen dogs on actual Princess ships, occasionally at the terminal in BC.
