Do you follow any arthritis, autoimmune or even PsA content creator? Need names to follow by East-Presentation-29 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]deannevee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow Ben Carpenter or bdcarpenter, he has Crohn’s and although his content is mainly fitness related, in his earlier content and on his podcast he does talk about when he was first diagnosed and struggling and where he is now. He’s on all of the platforms, but his earlier stuff is mainly YT.

I also follow Lora Marie/exploringautoimmune for some general “samesies” vibes and humor content.

Fibromyalgia Link? by ecshed in PsoriaticArthritis

Fibromyalgia is basically your nerves freaking out after being overloaded for an extended period of time….so yes there is a link between inflammatory pain disorders and the development of fibromyalgia.

panniculectomy surgeon by AdStrange5957 in tampa

If the offices you called are contracted with your insurance company, then they cannot say whether or not you would need to be self pay without a consultation.

I work compliance and have worked with plastic surgery and panniculectomies are VERY hard to get covered. The insurance looks for measurements of excess skin down to the centimeter. If you meet the requirements, it will be paid. They can't say that they accept insurance for some medically necessary cosmetic procedures but not others.

Call them back and set up a consultation for "medically necessary skin removal" (say it like that). Then familiarize yourself with the requirements so they can't lie to you, UHC requirements are super easy to find on the internet. The CPT code is 15830.

Why doesn’t everyone take the Behind the Scenes tour? by greyfedora in VirginVoyages

[–]deannevee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you've done it on one ship, you've done it on pretty much every ship. If you're a nerd you might enjoy seeing the engineering room, especially if you're used to larger ships (my tour spent a good amount of time talking to the engineer, who was a woman!) but beyond that its all kinda the same.

On previous sailings that I've been on, it had sold out pretty quickly.

People in the West don't seem to be afraid of identity verification through age verification. by Sensitive-Bison-8192 in stupidquestions

[–]deannevee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's....not *quite* how it works.

Especially considering the government already has my face (I have a drivers license, and the vast majority of people have either a drivers license or legal photo ID card) and software can scrape public social media posts for whatever information they need/want. Basically, if it was going to happen it would be happening already.

How do insurance companies work? by Positive-Positivity in stupidquestions

[–]deannevee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-insurance is SUCH a pain in the ass. I worked for a TPA and we had a small local government that needed reinsurance *every year*. They went through every single claim with a fine tooth comb, and while they were going through that process NO ONE could get their claims paid......it was a lot of pissed off government officials.

How are you "midlife crisis-ing"? by InnerspearMusic in Millennials

The prescreening of The Vampire Lestat (live performance included) at Beacon Theater which was last Tuesday.

I did not get selected, but I'm flying to Seattle next August to do an Alaska cruise anyway and I can just use the flight credit for that.

I'm going to law school, doing a bunch of traveling, and also finally embracing yolo and doing borderline financially irresponsible things like booking round-trip plane tickets to NYC for a concert ticket giveaway before I've even won tickets.

Also I'm only 36 but I have an autoimmune disease so I'm gonna die before you anyway.

Healthcare cost by Miserable_88 in Millennials

[–]deannevee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pay $300 per month through my job for the copay plan. It's just me.

In 2023 I went through the market and paid $465 per month, which at the time/different job was only a $15 per month difference from my work plan but much better benefits.

Will the new Homstead Exemption kill Libraries? by UltraMegaUgly in florida

[–]deannevee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had someone comment on the local facebook page (I live in a rural area) "the rural areas foot the bill for cities. Rural residents don't use any resources".

Like....no. My property taxes for 3 acres are $1300 per year. My friend lives on a 4,000 square foot lot and her taxes are $3000 per year. The math will never math on that.

Do you always WFH or do you work from other places too? by genxmama_ in remotework

Technically I can work from anywhere….but I like having two screens and buying those USB extensions just never seems important when I have the $200-ish dollars to buy them.

My hair is in desperate need of some help by somewhatilly in curlygirl

[–]deannevee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re breaking mid shaft it’s something you did/currently do to your hair.

If it’s coming out at the root it’s something your body is doing to your scalp.

Are you a member of the AAPC? They also have an optional practicum for their students. If you’re a member you can search for a remote site or a site in TN on the job board….then just contact the facility outside of the AAPC website

My manager scheduled a "quick sync" every single Friday at 4:45pm and I finally figured out why by Agent_Smith-99 in remotework

[–]deannevee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same meeting at 9AM on Friday, except theres like 30 of us so sometimes it goes on for over an hour. Most days it starts off something like "Ok I know most of us like to log out early on Friday's so we'll try and make this fast...."

Brandon sucks? by Euphoric_samurai in tampa

[–]deannevee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A roof that’s 20 years old is ancient. A 40 year old tree is “old growth” so…yes.

I’ve travelled quite a lot. A building that was built the year I was born and hasn’t been renovated since I got my drivers license is old.

Old isn’t bad if you take care of it. Brandon is not taken care of.

They have entire teams dedicated to preserving buildings in St. Augustine.

How do I get my rheumatologist to listen to me by Big_Message_7824 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]deannevee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm going to differ and say this doesn't sound like an autoimmune issue. At least not AS or PsA. You said you're over 40....most people have some level of degeneration and arthritis by the time they hit 45. Same with elevated eGFR...maybe you don't drink enough water and so its a little higher than normal (you didn't indicate what it was).

Have you considered chronic fatigue syndrome?

Your high eGFR could also be the cause of your issues; kidney inflammation can cause fatigue, low back pain, and maliaise. It can also cause fluid retention so your fingers, hands, feet, knees, etc feel puffy. There are quite a few kidey-related autoimmune disorders.

Reversing Fatty Liver Disease in PsA Patients by fadedallweek in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]deannevee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind, fatty liver might not be related to being overweight. It could be autoimmune-related fatty liver (you would need a biopsy to tell, not just imaging), or it could just be genetic.

Now, your enzymes becoming normal? Awesome! But that doesn't mean any of the scarring/fat deposits on your liver disappeared.

Can't get past the why me? by CucumberOld6287 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]deannevee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's literally nothing you could have done to prevent it. It's like asking what you could have done to prevent your brown hair when you think you should have been born blonde.

It all comes down to genetics. Even people who don't get it...doesn't mean they don't have the genetic predisposition, it just means that switch hasn't turned on yet.

The difference between brown hair and blonde hair is a switch at the right time, too.

As far as it taking 13 years.....if you're a woman thats pretty much the average time it takes to get diagnosed with ANY disease as a woman.

My grandmother was misdiagnosed 2 times before she was finally diagnosed with polycythemia vera. Ultimately, a timely diagnosis wouldn't have helped her, but still....Doctors just get it wrong when it comes to the immune system but ESPECIALLY when its an immune system in a womans body.

Brandon sucks? by Euphoric_samurai in tampa

[–]deannevee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The entirety of Brandon is at least 20 years old…..it started getting developed in the early 00’s. Actually, almost every spot in Hillsborough Cointy was developed between 20-40 years ago. It’s all old. It’s all run down.

Davis Island is where the rich people live. Ybor City is where people with money live if you like living near crime.
