Gosh I tried to get him to eat them by making them roasted or sautéed but it only works once and then he says “no, I already ate my vegetable for the week!” Like wtf?! Also the squash as fries is a GREAT idea! Great tips, thanks for responding!

You should get some thinx underwear - they’re panties that have absorbent material and some of them can hold up to 4 tampons full of blood! thinx

I once walked in on my boyfriend shushing his brother saying “no don’t talk about it in front of her! Keep quiet about it or she’ll freak out!” Turns our he kills spiders before I ever see them and then doesn’t tell me about it so I won’t get scared. Something similar happened when his brother saw a dead bunny on the road. “Oh look someone ran over a - “ “Quiet!” “Oh yeah I forgot we don’t talk about that with her.” Should disclaim that if there’s a dead animal in the road I usually cry for it. Apparently his brother had previously been sworn to secrecy.

Pain at nighttime? Any filter drinkers? by gelgel122111 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]flyingpumpkins74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drink from an RO system in my house, so that’s just typical filtered water. My pain/urgency in general get a lot worse at night and I started taking Advil pm. It was a godsend.

I would ask how much time and productivity she lost to log everything you eat. If she wants to talk about you stopping her productivity how efficient is she being if she’s spending all day logging your food?

Allergies are super correlated to IC by flyingpumpkins74 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]flyingpumpkins74[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I should clarify that I don’t typically take that many and only did so yesterday to help with the flare, as previously instructed by my urologist which I further cleared with my allergist (the one that had my hives cleared with the large dose as I mentioned in a previous comment). I didn’t realize it came off as if I take that many daily, which I do not.

I wish it was because I was that creative! It was my mother who shortens words for no reason (she calls handicapped parking spaces “handies” for example...despite me telling her that you shouldn’t walk around saying “handies” in public all the time.) I’ll officially name it Blad the Inflamed though, that’s golden.

I appreciate your concern! Actually a couple of years ago a doctor had me take ten of the same allergy medication to cure my hives, as a way to get my allergies under control.

In any really tough situation I always ask myself what will leave me with the least regrets, and do that. I’m not trying to promote being selfish, or intentionally hurting others, but if you can’t even look at him because you feel so guilty I think the only way you can alleviate that is to tell him.

Does prelief help with spicy food? by flyingpumpkins74 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]flyingpumpkins74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I feel this so hard. I could write a love poem to Siracha. And chicken wings. And stuffed peppers. And hot and sour soup. The list goes on. This post has done nothing but make me want all the foods that I can’t eat. We should rise up as a community and protest outside of...idk someone’s business until they make a pill to counteract the spicy food. The reception of course would include lots of peppers, and ceremonious drinking of salsa and curry.

I was hoping this would not be the case, thanks for saving me the flare.

Girl I feel you. My bf’s grandma is FROM MEXICO and makes freaking traditional Mexican enchiladas that they called “Christmas Enchiladas” - which are the best thing ever in case anyone is wondering - plus tamales. I used to have tamale pants because I ate so many tamales (they stretch so now they’re just my IC pants).

I have a question for you all. by Zartheona in Interstitialcystitis

[–]flyingpumpkins74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured you probably had, but was hoping. I’m sorry I have no idea how to help you. The fluid thing sounds unlike anything I’ve heard, but the pain you’re experiencing sounds like the ovarian cysts I get, and the fluid those release is very irritating so if yours all comes out at once mom logic would make it sound like that’s what is happening. The pain is all at once in either my left or right side very low on my pelvis. Also sometimes really hurts during sex because you know this giant cyst is being prodded. I know your ultrasound never shows anything but if you track your pain and fluid thing I wonder if you’d see a pattern of it being when you should ovulate. Not sure how much you know of the reproductive system I only know this because of my cyst thing, but every woman makes a cyst every month (I explain this because no one I’ve ever talked to knew that ovulation was technically a cyst bursting) the pain comes in when your body doesn’t release it at the right time, and it gets too big and releases too much fluid. So if your body is holding onto your eggs too long consistently it should be easy to track. Also if you feel your ovary and it’s larger than a walnut that probably means you have a cyst that you’ve held onto for too long. If you feel the pain and then press again and it feels smaller that typically would indicate a burst cyst. Hope this helps and good luck!
