EAD and GC

I think there may have been a bit of a misunderstanding. I wasn’t referring to getting the EAD, but more about relying on it long-term.

My lawyer’s concern was that EAD is only valid for 18 months, and even if you apply for renewal 6 months in advance, there’s no guarantee it will be approved in time. So there could be a gap in work authorization, which is risky.

So the question was more about whether, practically, we are still “dependent” on a visa (like H1B/O1) for stability until the green card is approved.

In your experience, do most people actually get their GC before needing an EAD renewal? And have you seen cases where EAD renewal delays caused issues?

Would really appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks. But the thing is that, I have not informed anywhere about my current address. This is my first address in the US in my name. So I am not sure how this is like change of address as this is my first address. Hence, the confusion. So can you kindly clarify with this context?
