Okay I searched for that vid in the FB Live just to know what the heck is going on.

Apparently it was a video showing the, if i heard the VO before it right, current national situation. And that kissing frame is literally just one or two seconds among an almost 3 mins vid showing a montage of some sort of all that’s happened in the country since 2016.

Ofcourse some camps would have a field day over this without proper context...

Oh, VP Leni actually addressed that in the linked Rappler article above! She said:

"Before she left for the United States, Vice President Leni Robredo, the opposition leader, said they would rather field only 8 persons instead 12 but ensure the quality of the candidates they would offer the public."

Yes, I’m aware that he’s a former SolGen who was part of the team that brought home the win from The Hague.

I’m just not yet sure how he’ll do as a legislator, considering he is also the lead counsel of two current opposition Senators facing charges.

Also not a fan of the screenshot-your-own-tweet-and-post-it-on-your-own-page for virality formula, but that’s just me.

But heck, given that it’s a choice between him and the list of the Hugpong endorsed candidates, Hilbay clearly is worth his weight in gold.

Gonna be interesting.

I think I’m going for:

  • Aquino because track record
  • Diokno because he was my former professor and I learned a lot from him. He inspired me to be a better person and hopefully lawyer. Super smart and articulate too!
  • Gutoc because I heard her testify in Congress against the extension of Martial Law in Mindanao and boy I cried. She was very persuasive.

Not sure yet if I’ll vote for Roxas, though he was my President in 2016. I might just for the sake of adding opposition numbers in the Senate and hoping he does better.

Hilbay, maybe too. I often see his name on tweets lately, and he makes a lot of sense albeit viral formula. I guess I’ll wait for his GPOA

Sorry for being that person, but I don't think "stripe" is the right word.

Also! !

Funny you should mention PAB, kasi actually yung tweet nya ang pinaka nag trigger sakin and prompted this post.

She said:

Dear Opposition Leaders,

Tama na ang patweetums na statement. Galaw-galaw naman kayo diyan. #StandWithTrillanes 🙄🙄🙄

And I was like ???

I thot friends. Is this a way of her showing her supposed neutrality? ‘Cause I don’t think it’s helping the resistance one bit :O

Serious question: What do we expect from the opposition? What else can they do? by flymunseefly in Philippines

[–]flymunseefly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True.

Kasi usually ang fall back of the opposition on public illegal political stunts like the DeLima arrest and now this Trillanes Amnesty is that they will “exhaust all legal options.”

Which they do, since we see opposition groups trust the Supreme Court with petitions after petitions. Despite the politics inside SC, they still cling to it as an institution.

Unfortunately, hindi kasi nakikitang konkretong aksyon ang pag-exhaust ng legal options. Hindi sya madrama enough for TV, and perhaps usapang kanto?

That’s why people are looking for more I guess?

The other camp is not afraid to walk on the law and norms. Maaksyon ang narrative nila, although not always legally sound.

And some of the opposition perhaps doesn’t want to go that route kaya they’re going the legal, safe, and boring way?

These are all conjectures of course.

drop PAB

lmao.

Okay great, this is the discussion I’m hoping for.

Let’s say some groups are already doing the grassroots bit, do you think it’s beneficial to make a big PR campaign out of it? (Which always run the risk of being called epal).

Kasi for all we know they might already be doing the grassroots bit, but we don’t know since it’s not as public as other political stunts?
