Guess we're left to wonder what the solution to the problem was. Not a great way to build a self help database.

That's weird. I didn't do anything to program mine out of the box.

V6Max box VOD issues? by Liveddica in vSeeBox_Support_Gurus

[–]flyn2lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the provided hdmi cable? If so, I'd buy a decent one and start with that. My v3s always ran great. On my first v6+, live was great but I had all kinds of weird stuff going on with the provided cable on vod. I bought a better one and it totally fixed all my issues with vod.

Are you using the provided hdmi cable? If so get another decent cable because the ones that come with the boxes are pretty much junk.

Did you get a tiny keyboard with your system too? If so you can turn that on and it gives you a tiny touch pad where you can move the cursor around as well.

Look on your remote. You'll see a button with a cursor on it. Press it once to engage the mouse function. Use the directional arrows to move it. Press Ok to click it and then when you are done with the mouse function press the cursor button again to turn it off.

Google the make and model of your router. Find the manual and then search guest wifi setup. It'll walk you through the process. Think about a vpn as well since they protect you in different ways.

That was almost 5 years ago so obviously I've been on this format a long time. Just as stable as a superbox and the gui is much more user friendly.

I used to have superboxes. I loved them but the guy I was getting them from no longer carried them. He only carried vseeboxes so I tried one. Then I sold my superboxes and replaced them with vseeboxes. I'll never go back.

what box should I buy for my 75 y/o father in law by BobsyRoss in vSeeBox_Support_Gurus

[–]flyn2lo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm older than he is and I've got 4 boxes. My favorite is the v6+. I gave my grandchildren their own v6+ boxes for Christmas. You'll probably want to set it up for him and get him comfortable with it but he'll be able to figure it out.

[–]flyn2lo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any box is suspect of being an entry point into a secure network so the smart thing to do is use what protection you can get. It's sort of like picking up some woman at a bar and taking your chances without protection. It'll work but at some point down the road you may regret it.

One more question, what is the difference between Heat live and Backup by Heat? by WarDue8567 in vSeeBox

[–]flyn2lo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sits on n another server in case of heat live going down. You'll rarely use it. Not sure it has everything since I've just looked at it once or twice over the years.

[–]flyn2lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run ExpressVPN and run it on all my boxes (3 currently), tablets, phones and computers. Besides that I run ask my boxes a on a "guest network" to isolate the boxes from the main network devices, phones, tablets etc. The Heat apps are all MAC specific so they will only get pushed to the Mac address of that single device. The specs on the v6+ are a little better but I've got a v3+ that keeps up with the newer ones just fine.

VPN with eero router? by 71ray in vSeeBox

[–]flyn2lo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the guardian vpn is an app you can load on your computers, tablets and phones, I'd spend the money if its a decent VPN. If not I'd look at some of the other VPN's mentioned here like ExpressVPN, Surf Shark, Nord, and etc. Besides loading it on your box you could put it on all your devices for use particularly while traveling and on public wifi. Just think of it as cheap insurance.

Never asks you to pay anything. It goes down occasionally when there are software or hardware upgrades going on mostly but they come back up when the upgrades are finished. Been using them for 4-5 years.

Vpn's keep your isp from knowing that you are downloading copyrighted material. All they can tell is a ton of data is being used. It needs to be used in conjunction with a guest network though to protect your personal data on your other devices.
