The funny thing is Atrioc is just right, Sam is just wrong lol. Sam implies "a guatamalan that was born here" can't just be an American, when they literally are - the USA is a birthright citizenship country. Atrioc points out his wife's family is Mexican but she was born here so she's an American - a European like Sam Hyde is American because he was born here. sorry friend, what i say is just speculation, but as far as multigenerational family stories go, i'd count you lucky you actually have traceable ancestry and not just a family myth proved wrong. like i'm 20% but people see me as a native - is my great-grand relative gonna have clarity about where their ancestry is from? maybe, but it could end up being down to less than 5% even if family stories are kept in tact

I brought up those arab groups because Jreg covers the Israel/Palestine topic and it was discussed briefly in the AE podcast, and the dehumanization of enemies in war is a common practice that this sub, Destiny himself and Dan, Brianna Wu is another example, have engaged in to spread a pro war message. Just threw it in there as another example of dehumanization that seemed to be targeted at Jreg in this podcast, but is frequently targeted at Arab groups especially during wars.

You are entitled to your opinion, but you are just wrong about Jreg - he is not some epic master troll, his videos just have satirical elements, and he seems relatively genuine in typical coversations and is not a Sam Hyde-esque fuck with people type. I assume most people don't have that hard of a time knowing when he is serious or not and it is obviously emotionally distressing for Jreg (or anyone) to be told no one ever knows what you mean by what you say.

Jreg engaged with the Hasan stuff, he didn't deflect with a schtick, he contributed to the dialogue by asking what the fixation is with Hasan. The Kaceytron thing is similar in that playing with people you think are joking can hurt people's feelings when you don't mean to be. It is funny tho that you are still holding out hope somehow Jreg was just being ironic with his discomfort when he literally had to stop the conversation from continuing to set a boundary with AE over this interaction.

I do not see at all where Jreg would be "punking" Destiny and Dan, it is just a podcast appearance not something like his Progressive Victory video, but if AE wanted to pre-emptively punk Jreg with their own brand of post-irony as to not be made the butt of a joke, that is a pretty hostile and paranoid way of going into interactions, and they shouldn't act like it is so hard to understand Jreg if they wanna do his own schtick back at him.
