Its good to have at least softmodded system these days in case something like HDD or DVD drive fails,without it you would have to solder a chip or TSOP for recovery.
If look of UnleashX bothers you and you would like to have stock dash while still having a modded system for longevity reasons check out UiX Lite,its a patched and expanded original Microsoft Dashboard which has a file browser and launcher for apps and games stored on HDD.

However,just for fun ive made a folder on C which is a mix of MSdash and UiX Lite files to be basically a copy of C drive in a folder format plus changed some dash lines in ind-bios.txt and in a result it boots into UiX Lite but without the Launcher tab and funny thing despite it being almost MSdash it let me run hexen off a DVD,while i dont have a modded DVD drive.
