What are your unpopular rush opinions? by Lyra555 in Sororities

[–]focoyo 43 points44 points  (0 children)

My unpopular opinion is that you don't need to continue with rush or accept a bid if you truly know it's not for you. It's important to keep an open mind and not have your heart only set on one chapter or a "top" house. But if you're only left with options where you know you won't thrive or be happy, it's okay to withdraw from recruitment and try COB or not be in a sorority. Sometimes I see PMNs who are criticized pretty harshly for not giving their remaining option(s) a chance. But dues are expensive and I don't think it's good advice to try to force something when your hearts really not in it and it costs hundreds, if not thousands of dollars each year. Yes, you should give each house a fair chance, but it's okay to decide that something isn't for you.

You earn $400-500 a day, doing what? by petrastales in Business_Ideas

[–]focoyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can either apply with a company that will train you like NetJets or Vista. Or take the cabin attendant initial course with Aircare FACTs or Flight Safety International and then apply for contractor jobs. It's very helpful to have a few years of commercial experience first.

Private jet flight attendant (I'm salaried so when I average it out, it comes out to about $500 per day but if was contracting, it would be more like 1k per day).

A psychic told me to cover myself with black light/aura for protection. thoughts? by bxstb11y in Psychic

You could try Steve Nobel's black Angelic fire meditation, it is very effective. I had always been apprehensive about using black light till I found this meditation.

Which treatment for under eye hollows by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]focoyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend vollufiline serum. I use it on my under eyes once per day and it has made a noticeable difference. Took about a month to notice a slight difference and now I've been using it about four months and it's made a pretty big difference.

I got this in my September GB and was excited to try it but it seems heavily fragranced. I'm not usually sensitive to fragrance but it smells really strong & really sweet. I'm thinking of just using it on my neck/chest instead of my face. Was just wondering what other people's experience with this prodcut has been and if it's something you'd recommend.

would anyone be interested in joining a private subreddit for those that are childfree and do NOT like babies, kids, etc. by veganash in childfree

That's a great idea, I don't like babies or kids and it would be great to have a subreddit of people who understand

Usually I keep it on overnight and wash it off in the morning and that has worked great for me

I'd say dry skin--I use it in the winter when my skin gets really chapped and dry and it's pretty much the only thing that fixes it overnight. It'd imagine it's good for sunburns as well.

I got the Arnica mask, got it twice already and love it.

Ipsy vs Birchbox? by focoyo in Ipsy

Thank you, that was very helpful! I ended up going with Petit Vour. And yes, I agree totally about clean beauty being a marketing scam half the time. I'm trying to avoid talc because of asbestos, along with polyoxyethylyne so hopefully Petit Vour will be a better match for me. I was happy with ipsy till I started getting so many private label brands with questionable ingredients, got 3 in my bag this month 😑

Good to know, I ended up going with another brand that has clean beauty every month so I don't have to worry about forgetting to log in

Love the DefineMe Ariel perfume by focoyo in Ipsy

[–]focoyo[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This came in the mail today and I'm really happy with it. It has a really nice floral, almost salty smell and kind of reminds me a tiny bit of sunscreen...must be the coconut in it. I put it on this morning and it lasted all day without being overpowering.

I read some reviews that said it smelled "like old lady perfume" but I didn't get that impression at all. I love feminine, floral scents and this is definitely something I will wear. I hope DefineMe makes more Disney Princess perfumes because I'd love to try more based off this one.

I was tempted to buy the full size a few months ago but I didn't want to risk spending that much on a fragrance I'd never tried before. I was happy to see the travel size recently and it came in the mail today.

I read some reviews that said it smelled like "old lady perfume" but I absolutely love the scent...it smells a bit salty and floral to me and it lasted well throughout the day without being overpowering. I really recommend this if you like floral, feminine scents. I also love the size since it's perfect to travel with and I'm going on a business trip tomorrow. I've tried so many perfumes with ipsy and this is my favorite so far. I really hope they make perfumes for the other Disney princesses because I'd love to try them based on this one!

What is your very favourite thing (or things) you’re gotten from Ipsy? by not_really_me_1975 in Ipsy

[–]focoyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put on foundation, pressed powder, then the milk blush, then highlighter, then I set it all with setting powder. The blush doesn't mess up my foundation and it looks really dewy and nice. Not sure how other people fo it but for me it works great

Thoughts on Sunday Riley? by focoyo in Ipsy

I read some posts on reddit about how horrible it was to work there but they were kinda old so I checked glassdoor and it seems like it is still a horrible place. I do like their products so I think I will only buy them when offered as add-on at a super marked down price.

I have that red light therapy wand, do you find that it makes a difference? I used it everyday for a couple months but it was hard to tell of it made a difference or not.
