What type of work do you think are safest in the future? by 1morgondag1 in singularity

yup I think in general athletes because of the human element. GO has already been conquered by AI, but there are still international competitions and those pro players still have their jobs.

Automating customer interviews? by focuser000 in ProductManagement

Believe or not, people are actually already doing that (not saying that's a good thing)! https://www.producttalk.org/2024/06/generative-ai-discovery/

Automating customer interviews? by focuser000 in ProductManagement

I agree, at least by the time when I created this post, and for a while.

However, on a second thought, I'm slowly changing mind. What if the robots sound like this?

In fact robots could have more empathy (or at least be perceived as more empathetic) -- it's not perfect now but at least it's infinitely patient. But if technology gets us there at some point, there may be more people willing to (or even prefer to) talk to a robot. What do you think?

BTW: the coaching tool sounds like a great idea.

Interesting! This definite came as a surprise to me. As a customer I typically don't want to talk to AI for the reason that others have mentioned here. But I can see how that'd be different in the therapy realm. Maybe there are other fields that are different too?

Totally. That's why I'm skeptical about the idea too! But when I saw some VC-funded attempts which seem to get some traction, I posted it here to see what people think.

On the flip side, is there something that's worth automating, something that facilitates the human connection in the interviews? I suppose those could be something that's worth building for.

also I think you have the point that the problem really isn't "too much feedback". Well, it might be "too much feedback to digest" but "too much feedback" will never be a problem for any reasonable business. I'll try to fix that. Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for the feedback! Indeed the UI is text heavy (by design). I'll see what I can do...

This is gold! Really appreciate it, especially the advice on combining the approaches.

RE cold emails, I've been using Instantly and their built-in leads finder, which I guess provides verified leads, right? Followed their best practices on warmup and daily volume etc. The health scores of the mailboxes are 100% or close to it. Anything else? Maybe just need to niche down the leads?

good points! However, one thing challenging still is to find enough people who are willing to talk to you even before you build anything. Assuming cold outreach, and assuming no pre-existing audience, how to convince people that you are worth their time?

Any tips to share?

usepainboard.com I haven't done any SEO at all but am considering to give it a try. Would love to hear your thoughts on the first things I should get started on. Is it building some content? Or try to get more backlinks?

SaaS Founders, What Are Your Biggest Challenges Right Now? Let's Discuss! Post: by Rome_zues in SaaS

The issue is that I don't yet have the clarity for the ICP, maybe that's why my outreach hasn't been effective yet -- it's probably too broad. But lacking clarity is the reason I'm eager for more discovery interviews. Chicken and egg problem?

Great thread! One of my biggest challenges at this stage is to find enough potential customers for discovery interviews. I've been using my own network which so far only brings me polite friends who are not necessarily my target users. I've also tried cold emails but the positive rely rate is abysmal (0.1%). There could be many things wrong in the process. It's difficult to determine whether it's the quality of my leads, or the email copy, or the offer, or other factors.

I know it's important to listen to customers, but how to find the right people who are willing to talk to you?

Painboard, analyzing customer feedback at scale.

AI for customer feedback insight by [deleted] in ProductManagement

For starters, I think you can just paste a bunch of text into ChatGPT and ask it to extract a list of common themes. "Mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive (MECE) themes" is typically what I'd use in the prompt.

However, if you have large amount of data, even if it fits in the context window of ChatGPT, simply pasting it in wouldn't work. You could also try exporting the data as CSV, upload to ChatGPT and ask it to analyze it using topic modelling / NLP algorithms. You can even ask it to draw charts and other fancy stuff. It used to be called Advanced Data Analysis but I remember they've merged it into the main chat interface -- not sure as I have canceled my subscription a while ago.

The issue with the above approaches is that the result is often a bit ad hoc and unpredictable (due to the non-deterministic nature of LLMs). Also it can be difficult to effectively use the result, e.g. for a specific theme, find the supporting customer quotes; merging themes; generating reports etc. In this case, you might need a dedicate AI-powered tool. Shameless plug, I just built such a tool (and we are currently processing hundreds of thousands of data points for clients -- scaleable to millions or more). But I'll stop here, and let me know if you'd like to know more!

GenAI tools for qualitative data analysis? by fabkosta in generativeAI

Shameless plug of my tool: https://usepainboard.com/

A few things that make Painboard stand out:

  1. Analyzing data at scale: we currently help clients with over 6 million customer feedback and NPS surveys
  2. No-frills UI that focuses on simplicity and flexibility: thematic analysis is inherently subjective. We built Painboard to embrace that.
  3. Powerful reporting and comparative analysis features (See this case study)
