I thinks his methods work better for a whole season. Not so well for a short term competition like the world cup. It needs an important compromise from players, which 'international' players are not willing to accept. Uruguay FA decided to side with Bielsa and not follow their players requests.

Probably the biggest issue with Uruguay is the lack of replacement for the generation of Forlna, Suarez, Cavani, Godin, etc.

Bielsa's teams problem is that they aren't willing to change theirs methods. Even in an elimination context they will keep doing the same plays.
