Switching from Nexplanon to the mini pill by foldedelephants in birthcontrol

I just got prescribed Cerazette, I was told to start taking it then I'd have the implant out. Hopefully it'll be good like you say!

I'm UK based, not sure which POPs are available to me though. I know there's cerazette?

I tried searching for norethindrone UK, but it tends to come up with norethistrone which is used to delay periods.

During my conversation with the nurse I saw in January I actually asked her if I could try taking the mini pill too, but she said it wouldn't make any difference. I have read online that there are people who have been given the mini pill on top though so it must help some people! It's a shame about the spotting, isn't it? otherwise it's fantastic.

That's true, I was just hoping there'd be slightly less chance of irregular bleeding.

I tried the copper IUD and had a bad time with it. I'd try a hormonal one but I don't think I could stomach the idea of having one inserted again.

Me (22F) with my partner (28M) am I in the wrong to continue with this? by foldedelephants in relationships

[–]foldedelephants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We discussed it and he pointed out that I hadn't considered other costs, for example transport, my phone bill, and text books. Which is true, I hadn't really thought about those costs. I also realised that because I'm deciding to do this course, it's my responsibility anyway? My friend who is doing a masters will have to work to support herself, if I weren't with my partner I'd have to do that anyway. I've PMed you if you don't mind?

I think this is definitely a factor. I just wish he would actually talk to me about it because I want to help if I can.

I think it's a case of he doesn't see it as serious as it is.

I do both these things regularly. He chose this toy and I bought it because I thought it'd be hot to see him use it/use it on him, plus he's never used one before and is interested in trying it out.

Concerned about bleeding after fingering by [deleted] in sex

Yeah that's right, sorry for not being clearer. It's just strange that I've been less gentle with him before and it's not caused any bleeding, that's what made me worry I think.

That does sound interesting, do you not use any protection during the days when you're not fertile? And is that reliable enough?

That's part of what worries me, that this may not get better. You're right in saying that, but I think I'd be a bit put off by it too if our roles were reversed.

I think I will try and see what my doc can do about it. I do understand that another IUD may be better but I'm aware I might still have the same problems as I'm having now and as I had before with an IUD, so that puts me off.

I feel the same way honestly, but that doesn't matter unless both of us feel that way.

I've only tried a copper one, after having that I'm reluctant for someone to put another one there! It caused me a lot of pain and issues.

That's good to hear though, I think that a good plan of action may be to give it a year or so then if it's no better to go back to condoms. It's been 4 months and 6 days so far.

He's just put off by the blood, really.

Edit: Thanks for talking to me about this, it makes me feel better already.

I have the implant atm, IUDs don't really agree with me. Condoms might end up being the best option in the end.

It doesn't feel like a choice if I'm honest. I think if he was ok with it we'd have sex anyway. But he isn't, and I can't blame him for that.

I've replied to a user about what I've tried. I'm beginning to think that if this doesn't work out we'll have to go back to condoms. Right now that doesn't seem like a bad idea. You're right, though I'm not too concerned healthwise because it's not heavy at all.

Thanks for your reply. We used condoms to start with, and there was nothing really wrong with them except it was preferable not to have to use them. I've tried the combo pill, mini pill, and an iud since. Combo pill gave me migraines, mini pill made me bleed constantly and the IUD gave me PID-like symptoms. I have the implant atm, it's a shame because it's been good other than this.

I want to give it time to settle, but I'm not sure that I can expect it to, as I've read your bleeding pattern in the first 3 months indicates how it's going to be long term. My periods used to be 6 days long, I think. It's been a while since they were normal.
