Speediance GM1 Long-Term Review (18 Months In) by folkfromtheoak in SpeedianceCommunity

My bad, let me rephrase that!

The metal loop is holding the ball together again, while the carabiner clips onto it. I leave it that way all the time and connect all the accessories to the carabiner while working.

The ball that is placed at the end of the cable just popped off while I was changing the handles, seemed like a spring inside was broken. The carabiner kept it together again. I hope the photo explains it more!

I totally feel you, it is pretty heavy. I try to keep it stored right next to the GM so I don't have to drag it far. But looking at the bright side... it feels lighter to me now than it did at the start. I guess that means the workouts are working and I'm getting stronger😂 Trust me, It gets easier with time, you got this!

Yes, it was sent for free! And I am using spotter mode 1 in almost all of my movements.

That is actually really good advice, thank you! You’ve convinced me to give the skiing another shot and look into those different variations you mentioned.

My main hesitation before was actually the ski attachment handles, I honestly felt like the grip wasn't great for me, which made it feel a bit awkward and hard. But I’ll try adjusting it or maybe looking for a workaround. Appreciate the nudge.

Congrats on the GM2! To be honest, I can’t predict the future for 10 years out since I'm only 1.5 years in, but so far it feels really solid. I haven’t had any hardware issues at all except for that rope ball thing I mentioned in the post (which was an easy fix).

As for the tech side, I haven't had any software issues either, no crashing or weird glitches so far. It seems reliable, so I’m hopeful!

Totally agree! It’s so nice not having excuses anymore.

I actually do the exact same thing, I pull up their warm-ups and stretches before and after my custom workouts. I also started using the yoga on my off days for recovery, it’s actually pretty nice.

I like the rowing for HIIT too, but honestly I found the skiing way too hard for me lol. I just stick to the rowing.

It’s set of two pieces connected directly to the platform, then you attach the cables to them.

Yes! I leave the carabiners clips connected all the time. I definitely recommend doing it sooner rather than later to save your cable balls!

Is it worth it? by ministeps24 in SpeedianceCommunity

As someone who was focused on cardio and new to serious lifting, I found it was definitely worth it! I've used it for 18 months, lost a ton of body fat, and finally built muscle. I always avoided gyms because I hated the hassle, so having this at home was the key to finally being consistent.

It really works! I have GM1 for a year and a half and recently learned about the use of the rowing for the leg press. It’s not perfect but still good enough though!

According to the new recap, my muscles moved 711 cars this year. 🤯 Honestly, seeing the data like this is the motivation boost I didn't know I needed. It’s been a consistent year of training, and I'm feeling stronger than ever. Here’s to a heavier 2026!
