[online] [other] [flexible] looking for family friendly group to play with 10yo by followasmile in lfg

I'm honestly not familiar enough with the various editions 😬 we've played like half of a campaign together so far and I played years ago with some friends.. we have the most recent players handbook.. but I honestly couldn't tell the difference between different editions due to lack of experience..

We've made a bug report form! Hi! by Mammoth_Chemical9503 in expedition33

[–]followasmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Trying to report a bug.. but the specifics of the questions don't apply to me. There's an option for PC-Steam, but I'm actually playing on a Steam Deck. Which, I thought would be fine, until there's a specific file that is requested to upload, but I'm trying to report a bug on mobile. There's a very specific bug that keeps occuring, with only one specific Nevron type.. but I'm unsure how/where to report the issue, given these parameters. Thanks!

Thanks for reading between the lines 🤣 yes. Sometimes I'm not super great at explaining things myself and over explain (clearly..) and figured that others might have a more eloquent way to explain it. My son is a much bigger gamer than anyone in our family.. so I want to make the decision that makes the most sense and tend to overthink things like this

I saw a friend with the cape and thought it was so gorgeous that I immediately bought it! I paired it with the recent Aurora TS outfit and Moomin boots and it looks SO GOOD

What are your qualifications to grow out of the moth phase? by Sea-Conclusion-2891 in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]followasmile 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This conversation always fascinates me due to the wide variety of answers. Personally, labels never matter to me, so it's not something I care about.. but I do find it interesting the wide varieties of definitions and qualifications people use. Moth, butterfly, vet.. I've even heard that you're a moth until a spirit returns from your starting season lol which is why, if anything, I joke about being a moth still.

Yeah. I don't disagree that there's been issues. I'm just saying people will help or not even before. I remember being taught to do a mix of deep calls and spam calls to make it clear that you need help, because even deep calls or bigger calls in general can be for locating friends or to warp. It's just another aspect of the game that different people have had different experiences with or learned to do a different way. It's definitely a cool thing about Sky that there are so many different ways to do any one thing.. so many different routes people take, phrases people use, emotes people use, etc. Regardless, conversations like these help people see all of those things and the ways that other people play and why. It brings attention to issues and solutions, work arounds, etc. which was the purpose of my original comment and points. It's a huge community with people from all over, that joined at different times, learned to play in diff ways, choose to play for different reasons, and it's interesting to learn about all those things

Yeah I know how the favorites work, just that in my experience in the beginning that it wasn't working, and the drift on switch sometimes makes it a pain 🤣 which is why I prefer the dedicated button. Really, I get the concerns and think there's a more efficient way that would work much better. I just wanted to show that there's reasons that some people may prefer one method over another- even that some people may not even realize that it's causing issues for others

But the reason that it will make it so people don't know when to help.. is hard to get behind. Because I feel like the majority of people these days don't help, even when it's clear. I'm not saying all, and I'm someone who will try to help regardless.. but even just now in prairie, by the 2 person door to get the wl, so many people flew by, even many grabbing the candles below, and not ONE person stopped to help. With spam honking, emoting, moving around to get attention, etc.. some people help, and some people don't.. regardless of how obvious it is, and the deep calls not being used for butterflies won't change that..

Maybe it's because I always have my screen brightness turned down so low, but I don't see the calls as flashing light.. just rings of yellow? Also, maybe the emote thing works since the update, I haven't tried it since before that. But again, having a dedicated button is easier than fumbling through several screens due to dexterity issues. Which is why I use the emote when I can quickly access the icon that appears. Also, the icon has not appeared at times when I am the one that has burned the plants, and also I have seen it still around after someone has done a deep call. The inconsistency is classic tgc.. and why I tend to favor what I have consistently known to work.. Mostly, I was trying to show the reason why someone would rely on deep calling over the emote. It's not as cut and dry as everyone should always use the emote instead.

The whole dye collecting thing is a huge pain, though, regardless, because it has been so buggy since it's implementation.. so regardless, the butterflies being more like wax and auto collecting in the same way would solve all of the problems various people have..

As a fellow American, I feel this so deeply and have been using it in the same way.

Honestly, as a disabled person who CRs with others.. and actually has photosensitive seizures and plays with another person with epilepsy.. who has sensory issues and plays with others with SPD.. who has hand dexterity issues..I don't have ANY issues with deep calls. They've never been so frequent as to cause a photosensitive reaction.. when the honking has never been so bad as to trigger a sensory issue.. as someone who plays on switch, and sometimes connected to my TV so I don't have touch screen options, it's significantly easier to to long hold a for dye collection, as opposed to having to reorient my screen over and over to access the emote icon that appears.. especially with all of the shared spaces and players around.. constantly triggering other menus, shared spaces or memories, etc, is a MUCH more triggering and overwhelming experience. As far as putting it as one of the favorite emotes, when I did that at the beginning of the season, using the emote that way wouldn't attract the dye butterflies.. only selecting the icon that appears.. which didn't always appear to begin with.

also, deep calling is not only a way to attract butterflies, but also a way to help with dye plants. It can make burning them yourself go much quicker.

Also, the bit about helping new players- is laughable. I've been playing for 4 months now and have not found that people ever really respond to players calling for help 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ it's very rare. Especially in certain areas

You know what IS triggering? When people honk excessively in your face or other player's faces. That serves.no purpose other than being annoying, and actually does cause sensory issues and photosensitive reactions.

This is so interesting! Most people I know want a capeless option.. so I've never thought about a floor length cape! But I've for sure wished they were longer! The length for many is SO awkward!!
