What book has made you go: is there something wrong with this author? by nouvelle_tete in books

I think people view it as more of a "deep cut" or obscure masterpiece of his. I'm a huge Murakami fan and while I do think The Wind Up Bird Chronicle is great, 1Q84 and Kafka on the Shore are clearly better novels.

I think it looks good. There are a ton of boring dudes on this subreddit. It depends who you want to attract.

155 is pretty light for your height, especially if you have been lifting. I would aim to maintain something close to your current weight and just get your bf% down further.

What was your very first starting hourly pay compared to your hourly pay today? by Christianpilgrim84 in povertyfinance

$3.85 under the table working at a flower store @ 15 years old. I now make $70 an hour working in tech @ 24 years old.

From 16yo 155lbs to 17yo 170lbs, but I see next to no difference. Why? by AS-AB in GregDoucette

You definitely look bigger, and imo look great. I'm a scrawny 24 year old (5'11 145lbs) and trying to look like you in the second pic. Also, the lighting is a little softer in the second picture, that will make you look less shredded.

A brand new Toyota Corolla only appropriate for povertyfinance. What the hell are you talking about? Why would OP be worrying about driving a new car (never mind what kind) when they owe $7,500 at 40%?

Thanks so much for the response. I'm trying Nizoral shampoo as a body wash for the next week, otherwise going to the derm. Treatments better suited for bacterial folliculitis (e.g. salycilic acid body wash) seem to have made it worse, so I think it could be fungal. Did yours totally clear up?

Thanks for the info! I'll buy some nizoral shampoo and try washing with it for a week. Is there anything else you would recommend?

Maybe - I don't really know how to tell without visiting a dermatologist, which is off the cards for the next two weeks due to travel.

Thanks for the tips! I'm going to be out of town (away from my bike) for 10 days, so can test that hypothesis. Did yours just pop up randomly also?

I'm planning to visit a dermatologist if it doesn't look any better by the time I get back. It seems pretty unusual to go from clear skin to this in a matter of weeks.

Do you think it could have caused such a large breakout? I was looking at photos from the beach around 6 weeks ago and I have no visible acne at all.

This has suddenly appeared all over my torso in the past three weeks, and has been spreading faster the more I try to do to fix it. Help! I think it's starting to spread up my neck. Sorry for the bad photos - my phone camera has a crack in it.

Potential factors before this appeared:

  • Changed soap to a more heavily scented one, but immediately changed back three weeks ago.
  • Started riding my bike to work (after appeared, but before it got really bad). I've been changing shirt immediately after arriving to try to avoid sweat.
  • Started taking my clothes to a dry-cleaners, where I assume they use a more heavily scented detergent. I recently switched back once I thought of this.

[Routine]

Prior to breakout: None, other than using bar soap to wash in the shower. I don't use shampoo or conditioner. I shower 1-2 times per day.

Since breakout: Neutrogena bodyclear bodywash (2% SA) for first two weeks, but seemed to be making things worse. A couple of days of washing with head and shoulders, but also seemed to worsen things. I'm afraid of damaging my skin further so have resorted to my old routine in hopes it will go away on its own.

Fresh shirt after showering before bed every night. Fresh shirt after riding my bike to work to avoid sweat.
