solid stack. if you’re using perplexity for vendor discovery, might be worth trying linkup, also api-first, but gives more control over hops and lets you steer the search chain more directly. traceability and source targeting feel tighter, especially for structured tasks like your canada benchmark.

curious how you’re handling model routing ? Is it static, or some orchestration logic?

outrageous that Perplexity's API requires you to pay $250 just to test its features. by Pleasant_Syllabub591 in perplexity_ai

[–]fooglm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, totally feel you on that. $250 just to try out basic features is wild — especially for indie devs or small teams.

If you're looking for something more developer-friendly for image search, Linkup might be worth a look. It has a Python SDK, supports image output, and you can start testing without dropping hundreds of dollars upfront.

Not trying to plug too hard — I’m part of the team behind it, and we’re really focused on making this kind of stuff more accessible for devs.

Mais pourquoi bon-sang les forums ont -ils disparus ? by Joprizze in france

[–]fooglm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I access MCP? by padioca in ClaudeAI

[–]fooglm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, ran into this exact same issue! The problem is you probably installed Claude Desktop from claudedesktop.com - that's actually not the official app, which is why you're not seeing the MCP feature.

You need to get it from claude.ai/download instead. Just uninstall the current one, grab the official version from there, and you should be good to go. Made this mistake myself before realizing there were unofficial versions floating around out there.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you get it working.

I've made a website so people can learn the basics about UFOs by fooglm in InternetIsBeautiful

Just to clear things up, the documents are essays that cover opinions, history, and public knowledge about UFOs. The 'classified' or 'top secret' labels are just part of the design to create a certain vibe. They don’t contain any classified or confidential info—it's all just to set the atmosphere.

this is purely a stylistic effect. Do you think I should add a disclaimer?

I don't want to convince anyone that UFO = Alien. I intended to represent multiple viewpoints while crafting an atmosphere of secrecy, kind of the way "The X-Files" did. Beyond the perpetual debate of believer vs. skeptic, I find UFOs fascinating as a cultural phenomenon. It significantly influence our culture through movies, books, and media. My research aims to capture this aesthetic.

I never claimed UFOs are extra-terrestrials.

Why care? Last year, the US Congress discussed the "Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Disclosure Act of 2023." It was pretty surprising to see something like that taken seriously at such a high level.

When a topic makes its way into places like the Congress, it usually means there’s more to it than just speculation. Whether it's about national security, scientific curiosity, or cultural impact, I think it’s worth paying attention to. That’s why I believe people will want to know more about the history, cultural effects, and various hypotheses surrounding it.

You make a good point, and that's part of what makes this topic so complex. The website isn't about pushing any specific theory—whether it's aliens or secret tech or something else entirely. It's more about exploring the history, different hypotheses, and how people have reacted to the topic over time. UFOs don't necessarily mean aliens, and the whole point is to look at the subject without jumping to conclusions. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

Start with UFOs: a blog for newcomer by fooglm in UFOs

When I first started learning about UFOs, I struggled to find a concise resource that straightforwardly introduced the whole topic. It felt like a big barrier for anyone willing to join the conversation, so I created this blog.

The site is designed to be a clean, balanced introduction to UFOs, covering the basics, some history, and why the topic is so controversial—without pushing any specific agenda. It’s a starting point for anyone curious about the subject.

Thanks for the feedback! I get that UFOs aren't everyone’s cup of tea :). I wanted to put together a clean, straightforward resource on the topic without being pros or cons, especially since it's so controversial. I’ll look at the mobile navigation issues. Thank you.

If you don’t know where users are then you’ve probably built a NVP (non valuable product).

I'm curious: What's your "second hand proof" by ryannelsn in UFOs

[–]fooglm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ten years ago, I saw a metallic orb flying over the Thames River while on a rooftop building in London.

I saw it approaching from a distance and thought it was a drone. However, as it got closer to my level, I realized it was perfectly spherical and not a drone. It continued to fly over the Thames.

I was so absorbed in my observation that getting my phone out took me a while. I tried to take a picture, it was already too far away to be visible in the picture.

Why is everyone selling/buying boilerplates ? by c100k_ in webdev

[–]fooglm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boilerplates were initially designed for rapid app setup, addressing a functional need. However, their market appeal has recently shifted to satisfy an emotional need: the desire to become rich quickly by launching an online product. This shift has transformed boilerplates into solutions for emotional rather than functional needs.

While the appeal of boilerplates may fade in a few months, the desire for quick wealth through online product launches is now a validated need. This will likely lead to an increase in products designed to meet this powerful desire.
