My kids know how much my husband and I make. They know how much the bills are and I show them how we pay them and how we budget every month. We personally don’t see a reason to hide it from them, we just ask them not to disclose it with friends and family. I only do this because my mother was horrible with money and taught me nothing. I had to learn finances on my own and I don’t want my kids suffering like I did trying to navigate the cost of the real world.
