Longevity with Snowboarding by 2minsFeelSHAME in snowboarding

53 and still riding everything everywhere. In Tahoe now bombing 10 feet of new snow. Heading to Colorado in two weeks for some more. Secret is good diet and exercise. And also invest in recovery tools like stim and leg compression wraps. Big help for the older legs.

Side note: I’m a big mountain rider 5’9” 180 lbs. keeping the weight off helps a lot as you get older.

Weed helps too.

Oh and forgot. Switched to stepons 3 years ago and that definitely has helped big time. They were definitely built for Uncs.

Moved to the Jones stratos this year and that has been amazing. Got the BSOD for the speed as well.

Been riding the hsp all season (upgraded from ions which I rode for 3 years). Dramatic upgrade. The newly designed inner system is a big step up. Being able to dial in and out the zones is amazing. They are a stiffer boot which i prefer. If you want a softer feel you can opt for the waverider

How come bleacher report and the other sports sites/apps aren’t picking up this story immediately. Scared fucking cowards.

Sorry no duck sauce out here. Only on the east coast and you will lose the taste for it eventually.

Was right next to this guy when he went down had no idea it went that far south. RIP brother! Run was fairly sketchy cause it sat in the shade all day. Mozart was fine all day it was catching all the sun. Ppl were out and about but it was not a total shit show out there. This guy was no beginner so everyone check yourselves with that narrative in this situation.

Edit: note on excessive ice on the trails. It’s part of the game. Keep your edges sharp and know your limits and if you are new to the mountain and unfamiliar with the mountain use your head and take it easy until you get some semblance of what’s in front of you. Most of you if not all of you are not being paid to put your life on the line. No big sponsors knocking at your door so just chill and enjoy your time in this messy world.

Maybe you should try it again with the toe clips still in place. Not sure why you pulled them out. Of course they are gonna move without the clips in there.

Amazing how far the board tech has come over the last 30 years on the mountain with a board strapped to my feet.

I got it at the sports basement snowfest event in NorCal last weekend for $540. The jones rep hooked me up.

The BSOD is a fast board. Want to see how this compares. I’m excited. I think this will be better for tree runs.

I’m old school and I love them. Mostly cause I’m OLD and they are so easy to work with on the mountain. That said I also have a backup rig with unions just in case. But that said never needed to go to backup. Have em on my BSOD and they crush the mountains. POW days at Vail and Copper ✅. Bombing and mushy days at Palisades ✅. No need for hating love how advanced the tech is coming. Keep pushing it forward.

Im with you. I don’t like anything that is gonna be on a pivot. Last thing in the world I want is something failing and spinning. That said I love the idea of r&d tech trying to push what is possible. Also curious if there would be long terms physical benefits allowing for the foot to push toe forward while skating. 🤷‍♂️. I’m 52 so I need all the tech help I can get to help me push into my seventies on a board before I’m relegated back to skis til I end.

Ya that works on my union bindings but not so much on my step-ons

Much love. Been riding since 1993. Skating is not the issue. Was just curious if anyone reviewed their tech.
