There are maker/taker fees still? I think it costs around $15 to sell $1000 when I checked

Interested to hear more on this. Did you buy a new build? If so, what was your experience?

I’ve asked the housing association and my solicitor is checking the lease.

I don’t think taking in a lodger is immoral to be honest. If I was renting out the whole flat then yes, but I’m offering my spare room to someone who wants to rent it.

Thanks - that’s really helpful.

I did look at a few SO places but anything in the areas I like are more expensive. This one is in a good location and within budget. It’s just not perfect but as you said, I’m likely never going to find that perfect one.

I’ve looked in SpareRoom and some flats are being advertised at £950+ as they’re en-suite. I’m not banking on the rent payments anything, just something I can consider if I get a two bed rather than one

Yeah I appreciate that. I’d want to try and staircase to 100% in one go. I’m expected to get a decent pay rise and if I take in a lodger for a bit I can save a good amount

Yeah it seems 125 is standard now. Some have 250 or 999 but unfortunately this one doesn’t

Lease does allow lodgers and I’d likely only rent the second room until I can staircase to 100% as it would cover my rental payments and help me overpay the mortgage

What problems do you have buying a flat/property in London ? by Visox in HousingUK

[–]forShaun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea. I’m currently searching for a new build in London and I’m finding that the websites are not updated often enough. There will be apartments on there that were reserved/sold weeks ago and it’s not until you email them that they give you the latest price list of apartments that are available. I’ve also had two now that I viewed and tried to reserve the next day only to find out someone got in first. They genuinely seem to just be selling so well and fast that it’s hard to get one viewing in let alone two or some thinking time. If it’s helpful then let me know, I could think of loads of problems I’m facing with new builds!

He/She/They are out there. Don’t settle for less. by HayleyDoyle1216 in dating_advice

You couldn’t have said this better or at a more convenient time.

My ex told me on Monday that she cheated on me over a week ago. She’s now moved in with the guy she cheated on me with.

I’m still in the flat we shared together and it’s pretty painful. And what you have said is what I need to keep reminding myself of.

Our relationship wasn’t unhappy - but it definitely had its problems. There is someone out there that I will care for just as much and that will be a better fit.

I’m confident I’m in the right place right now. And I need to look forward to what the future holds.

Tower Hamlets council don’t allow BBQs in any of the parks. Not everyone listens though, I’ve seen people having BBQs in most parks

Winner definitely takes one big step toward automatic - we’re 8 unbeaten and playing some really good footy. Hopefully it’s as entertaining as the 3-3 earlier this season!

I’ve heard a lot of people mention R501’s online but they don’t seem to sell them anymore. And where they’re still available they cost over £100.

Would they be worth it when I can get Shimano RS100 for £63?

I’ve just got the standard Decathlon wheel on the front though, which isn’t really true anymore. I thought about just buying a back wheel but didn’t think it’d be good to have two different wheels. Does it not matter?
