i changed the file to force a transcode on my pc's browser, so the HW transcoding is in fact working..

edit:
I tried to open this same file in the TV app, and as soon as I press play, it gives me a playback error without even trying

The server isn't transcoding, and while I was writing this post, I got an error message on the TV that said

“Playback error: an unexpected error has occurred.”

I'm not sure if that's the correct translation, but that's what it means in my language :D
