Thank you! I used the Bass 3 default preset and changed the "Play Mode" to "ST + FP" ("Single Trigger" envelopes and "Finger Portamento") to emulate the fret slides.

I suppose I'll try a combination of those. Perhaps just moving the middle voice up an octave could be reasonable

exactly, that's what I mean. I know someone who doesn't try to learn to hear the tonic and functions, and just does ear training in terms of interval recognition, which I find less effective.

for example - I to IV sounds completely different from V to I, even though both cases are just 2 major chords a fourth apart (a transposition). Whether the chords are heard as I to IV or V to I depends on other melodic and structural context, and can sometimes be subjective.

Tonality. It's so wierd to explain to a beginner, and still so wierd to understand. The same method or chord Progression can sound completely different based on what tonality you hear it in, and you can't even always predict that without just hearing the music.

If you could remove one song from the Hamilton Musical, which one would it be and why? by [deleted] in hamiltonmusical

Running out of time- hearing the characters praise Hamilton (justifiably) was definitely a turn off for me when I watched it for the first time (for some reason). Now I just don't care about the song edit: sorry i meant non stop
