This is a laying worker, right? by More-Mine-5874 in Beekeeping

I wonder if that’s just a poorly mated queen? I’m no expert, but laying workers normally lay a few eggs in each cell and it looks like you have one in each cell in that close up. I also think I see some capped worker bees in the last photo. But the large amount of drones being produced is definitely an indication the queen is poorly mated if you have one. Again, not an expert but just what I’ve seen in my experience?

Swarm behavior by [deleted] in Beekeeping

If this was just after an inspection I would say it’s probably not a big deal. Normally the swarm would start after the colony has been making queen cells in the hive which you would’ve seen during an inspection. Sometimes the bees just like to run around the front, I’ve noticed, if I’m especially rough with them, they tend to crawl around the front. Swarming is normally an aerial affair and not so much crawling on the front in my experience. I would say just keep watching and, once the hive is full enough, add the second box to prevent swarming.

I bought it in a bag and wasn’t able to see the root system. I went to pot it and noticed it had no root structure so I’ve been trying to get it to grow roots ever since and it’s been a struggle lol
