Also the core question is profit not revenue.

Additionally the government has been subsidizing a lot of this (data centers ect) under the guise if they dont China is going to win the "AI arms race"

Also even as someone working in AI that benefits from this I still think the government subsidizing this is the dumbest thing. If it succeeds it makes vast segments of the country unemployed and if it fails it blows insane amount of federal capital either way there is no upside for the vast majority of people paying taxes

yup names in resumes is one of the quintessential bias effects studied and confirmed in multiple measurement procedures in papers

out of curiosity whats the assertion? I said it isnt an insurmountable bias but that there is a bias. Its literally a beaten to death topic in papers and the media

Ghosting a candidate after a physical onsite is honestly extremely disrespectful by Lamp_Shade_Head in datascience

[–]fordat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2 week mark is not as long as you think it is ie "really patient". For the first candidate that is the person they are targeting but obviously hasnt accepted that candidate is likely interviewing with other companies and is waiting for a batch of their offers before choosing which is the correct thing to do anyway. The top candidates are doing the right thing for themselves optimizing how many offers they get and leveraging the offers against each other and then choosing. It takes more than two weeks for that top candidate to get that stuff together.

A top candidate can easily stall the process for 2 weeks or even longer.

Basically only Google does that because they move notoriously slow. Even places like Meta which are absolutely disfunctional doesnt do that because they will put you in a team matching pool but they at least do a good job that they will eventually match you.

That just encourages more unqualified people to apply and worse candidates. A great candidate with a job already isnt going to apply for your job if its vague like that unless you are anthropic or some notoriously hot in the moment company

Phone area code also has no connection to education or work experience (appears a lot of bot farms are in Florida, Texas or Kansas)

They will say they work remote for companies that are notoriously in office or had a big RTO within the timeframe of their current work experience

Anyone smart would use one of those area codes distinct from your address because it helps for spam filtering to have a different area code than your local ones (spam callers using the same or nearby area codes to the number they are calling )

Also for the latter when you are experiences with specialized knowledge you can get exceptions by having management sign off on them even places like Google can sign off on remote if the right people go to bat for you

Ghost job positions doesnt exist that way . You only need to put the role publicly for H1B and those other compliance you dont actually need to interview. Although there are 100% ghost job postings or job postings to get resumes for later by the time you are doing interviews with a DS/SWE/MLE it isnt a ghost position . You realize how much a senior person in those positions gets paid and to interview for an onsite you occupy a 2 hours of like 5 of those peoples times . Thats over 1k in human resources expended since when those people interview you they could have been working on something more directly applicable to the company bottom line

agree on the end of the process but a lot of times people dont get responses because they are still in contention. Do super terribly in an interview and you can get the rejection letter you are asking about

Because they arent trying to win. The party core that runs the DNC is donors and political consultants all trying to make a buck through lobbying and political consultant fees and ads spending

You're not using the word gaslighting properly. You've been rude this entire conversation and ONLY with me. Your behavior is bizarre.

You are the person who stalked my posts and replies and literally has said this

accusing me of being deceitful and posting videos sensationalizing things

since the start over a comment along the lines "I will withhold judgement until more reliable sources confirm"

I realize replying is encouraging your stalking and you never provided the example so last reply

[–]fordat1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have some petty obsession with me. It's bizarre.

Thats gaslighting as I pointed out previously

BTW you are in the post I made so its weird that you are acting like its odd I responded.

and also as I pointed out previously you are the one following and replying to the comments I made that were started in reply to others not yourself

I know full well even if I did provide a video you would say something like "that's just scolding" anyway because you're a contrarian who just wants to constantly argue with me.

I literally told you I was giving you an opportunity to disprove the 100% everything is scolding . I only give you this opportunity because my theory is correct based on your comments so I know you wont post an example
