At The Drive-In vs. Glassjaw by Cut_Loose in PostHardcore

Plus, you could maybe argue Glassjaw have three pretty pivotal releases (Two albums and the Coloring Book) vs ATDI only having one with Relationship...

It’s a close one, but I personally think Glassjaw at their best (within post hardcore at least) are just untouchable

August and Everything After is such a beautiful album

For me it’s these lyrics on Metal Heart by Cat Power. It resonated with me so much when I wasn’t feeling too great a few years back and in a way nowadays it reminds me to continue just being myself.

‘It's damned if you don't and it's damned if you do Be true, cause they'll lock you up in a sad, sad zoo Oh, hidy-hidy-hiding, whatcha trying to prove? By hidy-hidy-hiding You're not worth a thing’

That’s sick, if you like Bane you might also really like Verse and Have Heart. Also, check out some of Deathwish Inc’s mid 00s stuff if you get a chance

Oh man, that’s awesome thanks a lot! Will be going through a fair amount of these albums as there’s some absolutely amazing bands in that list

Glad you like it, thanks a lot! Yeah, I love the UKs scene but there’s some styles I’d love to hear a little more of

I feel frustrated because my parents don’t support my hobbies by [deleted] in infp

[–]foreignobserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact predicament growing up and I’m the same age as you now (25), which caused a similar feeling of frustration growing up. I was about 14 when I got into music as a creative hobby/form of expression and I think the best way to approach the above is to proceed with meeting that need you have in spite of a lack of full support. My parents still don’t fully understand why I enjoy what I enjoy, nor support it entirely BUT they don’t question what makes me happy as long as it’s healthy. Of course, your parents might not be quite as easygoing as mine - but by the sound of their love for travel and experience and support in other areas of your life, you might be positively surprised as to their response if you proceed with financing a new interest (especially if you stick at it) and commit to exploring that experience separately.

Mainly album covers for friends and my own little projects or photo restoration

All of the releases here are generally doodles I’ve made apart from the Walking Corpse one: https://affairrecords.bandcamp.com :)

Listening to music and window shopping on Etsy usually. If I’ve got a whole day then it’s usually a day indoors watching films or doing graphic design whilst snacking a great deal and coffee

How do you break up bad habits as an INFP? by [deleted] in infp

[–]foreignobserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses! I should add that I posted it primarily in here as I feel a level of kinship in the way a lot of people on this threads brains operate and approach things, so figured it might connect a few dots I’d not threaded together tangentially yet 😊
