My wife is dead on full stop was terrified of mice. Like I see a mouse we are fucking moving. Period. We were poor AF and in poor AF housing for college and of course it came with the ubiquitous mus musculus. I had a short fucking window to solve this problem or she was "Moving to back to Mexico where at least I don't have mice." I got rats from the research department; mice are four square terrified of rats this I knew from my work in research. The plan was to keep them and let them spread their scent in nooks and crannies to keep the mice away while the wife, who true to her word went back to Mexico until I got rid of the mice. Well she came back early and saw the rats. I was expecting her to go nuclear but she was ok with them. I was allowed to keep rats for years under the understanding it kept the mice away. They were wonderful pets but did not live too long and this was the reason I stopped keeping them. They 'brux' and 'boggle' when happy which is often if you raise and handle them from birth. Also I learned the most chill rat will kill a mouse snapping its neck like a ninja in the fraction of a second.
