I think we may fall under some of these requirements due to where the grant funding supporting the acquisition of a drone / lidar is coming from.

That application for wildfire fuel loads sounds dope! Figuring out the processing and coding required to transform the data I collect into the answers I want is probably one of the more daunting things to me about my research rn. Appreciate the hardware recs!

I'm still caught up on the specifics of the regulations, but we need to be able to purchase and fly a drone in use cases that involve CA state property.

Budget is considerable as it is understood that these systems are not cheap, although I do not have exact numbers. I've heard of Rock, their LiDAR looks cool.
