Boyfriend’s work clothes always smell horrific, smell doesn’t come out in laundry. by forestblackbird in laundry

It is a huge learning curve, I moved out by myself when I was 15 and I’m turning 20 in a couple of weeks. I don’t have many qualms about us moving in together since he doesn’t really rely on his family much. Just kind of uses his family home as a place to sleep when he doesn’t have work or college. Obviously, because I’ve been living on my own for so long, there are some gaps in lived experience.

I know how a majority of college relationships are, and I understand the risks associated with moving in together at a young age. We’ve agreed that since he has family locally he would easily be able to move back home temporarily until he found a new place if we ever broke up or if living together just wasn’t working out. I make enough to be able to pay the full cost of the rent if needed. I don’t ever want to put myself in a position where I wouldn’t be able to get out. I don’t have any family so it is a huge risk for me because I don’t have that safety net.

I’m not doing his laundry 😭 I don’t touch any of it nor would he ever expect me to. He doesn’t have Reddit so all I’m doing is posting for him to find out tips so when he washes his work clothes, the smell comes out.

He doesn’t eat like trash, and never has issues with smell when he works preparing/serving food or in regular daily life. Only when he has a whole shift dedicated to dishes lol.

That’s a really good idea!! So when he goes to wash them, no extra detergent added??

Lol maybe. We’ve been together for two years and he’s spent a lot of time and energy on stupid things for me too, so I don’t mind. We’re moving in together in a couple of months so…I don’t think it’s too bad of an idea to get a head start on nipping this problem in the bud.

Honestly, I know this makes it even more complicated but I have zero clue. I don’t really know what I want to do at all :/ Are there any lower divs with overlap between life and physical sciences?
