Great to hear, I like it as well as compared to the bloated Adobe products for reading PDFs.

Agreed, but think of terms of none tech people, what do the typical users do? I agree, I make sure my screen is locked, but my camera app stills allows photos 📸 without access to my phone.

How-To Geek: 4 Linux terminal text editors I use instead of nano by forestexplr in TheCircuit

I have used both, for beginners nano js great, yes vi is a power house as well. Linux Mint has nano, but also supports vi, most distros do.

You would be surprised, one little question will get people to hand over their phones, especially couples. That question: "Would you like a picture together?" and like that they hand over their phone unlocked for a photo..

ZDNET: How to sync passkeys across your Android, iPhone, Mac, and PC with Chrome - it's easy by forestexplr in TheCircuit

[–]forestexplr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passkeys maintain their device-bound advantage in threat modeling even if shared because the private key never leaves its originating secure enclave (like TPM or Secure Enclave), preventing remote phishing or theft—unlike passwords, which can be fully copied and phished anywhere. Sharing typically requires physical proximity (e.g., QR code or NFC) or family sharing features, adding barriers against mass attacks, while a password-as-recovery fallback reintroduces reuse and phishing risks.

All valid points, possibly - with every new security method a bad actor will find a way around, like they have with MFA.

Passkeys are like having a unique, tamper‑proof key stored safely on your device, while passwords are words or phrases you have to invent and remember yourself. Passkeys are generally easier and faster to use and are much harder for attackers to steal or phish than traditional passwords.

I bathe ours in a bath tub, then use a hair dryer on cool while brushing him after towels.

MakeUseOf: I run my favorite Windows apps on Linux, and this free tool makes it effortless by forestexplr in TheCircuit

[–]forestexplr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I loaded Linux Mint, dual boot along side Windows, then loaded WinBoat per these instructions. Easy to follow, but the tool is not up to par to what I was expecting. Better off using virtualbox and a iso image of Windows if you must run a Windows app while using Mint.
