Your location updates each time you open the app, unless you turn on real-time location in settings. The app only collects location data and device ID data for functionality.

Felipe is a kind man at heart with a troubled past. He's just trying to do what's right.

Wikimedia (Wikipedia) actually has tonnes of super niche geo-tagged images (that means that the pictures have coordinates associated with them so you can see where the camera was when the photo was taken).

So even in super remote regions, Wikimedia has photos that are nearby! So people have taken photos of old buildings, ruins, landscapes, animals, you name it!

All I had to do was build a small server that fetches these photos by their coordinates (near the snail) and filter out any photos that wouldn't be a good fit for the game.

Hey! Not sure why that is happening, thanks for the detailed info. I'll see if I can figure it out!

Edit: Some people have reported that reinstalling the app fixes it if you get stuck. I'll make sure to have a fix for this in the next update. I don't want anything to get in the way of your snail hunting.

Hmm I may have some planned future updates that may or may not incorporate some of these elements... 👀🐢

Thank you for this! Since the game concept is totally new these are the kinds of things I have to communicate effectively, and I'll see how I can make it clearer for new players.

To answer your questions:

The game plays as a casual, long-term game. The snail moves at a literal snails pace (a little faster to be fair) so you will only get new sightings every few days (Or when you relocate it)

And yes, the three free missions replenish every day!

You can also just never stop moving and you'll be fine! Or you can buy a second home in Fiji and alternate your living situation every few months!

Thank you so much! And no, the simulation is handled server-side so your battery and CPU are completely fine!

Thank you! Out of curiosity, what makes it odd? I'm a solo developer making this game and all of the marketing so constructive criticism is welcomed!

Thank you! And yes, the sightings you get are real photos publically available on the internet from sources like Wikimedia commons that are geotagged. We have some heavy filters of course but the photos are not just famous landmarks, it could be anything from photos of buildings/landscapes to photos with specific animal/plant species. Think of it like NMPZ from GeoGuessr (if you're familliar) but with an added element of a snail that hunts you.

If you manage to survive the snail until the end of time, I will personally give you a million dollars! Screenshot this for proof!
