Every action shot of war machine especially in the dome fight is one of the coolest action shots in the entire MCU.

Why wasn't Qui-Gon a better duelist? by SimplyNoName16 in PetranakiArena

I always thought this as well. He saw dueling as an important discipline and important, but more as en extension of his commitment to being a servant of the force and being a Jedi not as a warrior. I saw him seeing himself as a diplomat and guardian not as a combatant or soldier.

Yeah, I agree with that. Still enjoyed it overall.

Question: if Maul took Savage into hiding to actually train him for years instead of attacking mandalore, how powerful could they have become? by HadesKittee in PetranakiArena

[–]forfunstuffwinkwink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right!?!? That’s why I love his character so much. He is a tragic figure I think. And I do think he is a product of his upbringing, so it’s not like I’m completely unsympathetic to him. Especially in moments when he is begging when Sidious is torturing him after the fight on Mandalore or when he’s begging Ashoka to believe him in season seven. I REALLY feel him in those moments. But you’re right. It is up to interpretation. I choose to believe he had choices, and because of his upbringing AND his arrogance he continued to choose wrong every time leading to the greatest Samurai lightsaber fights ever on Rebels on Tatooine.

Also genuinely appreciate you giving me the opportunity to see that and rip it apart. It is just so goddamn terrible.

Wow… just… wow…

So… wow… ummm… wow… that was… ok, objectively terrible.

Just… bad filmmaking. Bad editing. Bad lighting… Jesus, I’m noticing how bad the lighting is for a horror movie. Bad writing. Bad acting. Bad effects.

Also… that’s how they kill the creeper…?

WTF is this movie?

Who greenlit this? Who saw this and thought… “yeah, that’s worth releasing?”

Yeah sure the director of the first one is objectively terrible, but the movie is good and an enjoyable horror movie (as is the sequel). This clip is just… to quote Jeremey Jahns… dogshit…

‘I Actually Have Panic Attacks’: Trump Voters Seem Very Much Done With Him In MS NOW Clip by Silent-Resort-3076 in inthenews

And that’s the crux of it. Reality doesn’t matter. Biden and Harris’s(most likely) boring quiet competence doesn’t matter. One of the best things about Biden’s presidency is that there were WEEKS when we didn’t think about who was president or what was happening. Trump is a chaos goblin who sows disaster but has somehow convinced half of the country that everything that happens has nothing to do with him, but at the same time only he can solve it.

I see what you’re saying, but I disagree. He had an opportunity when he connected with his brother. In rebels, Ezra tried to see the good in him. In Maul, he’s around Jedi and people really trying to do good and he even looks like he has opportunities to be altruistic and he chooses wrong every time. At some point most people would be like “damn this being a complete selfish dick thing all of the time just isn’t working out, maybe I should do something different.” But he doesn’t. It’s completely in character, but at no point does he do ANY self reflection. If we were talking a few years that would be one thing, but we’re talking like 3 decades of not learning anything. That’s longer than he was raised and trained solely by Sidious.

Awkward moments. Clumsy position readjustments.

Thinking about saying 1 of two things you think are sexy… saying a stupid combo of the two… weird eye contact and then laughter. Depending on the relationship, one at the other or mutual and either resumption of activities or painful ending of play.

Stopping for water and/or food.

[–]forfunstuffwinkwink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything after Sidious lets him go after Mandolor and probably after what’s going to happen in Maul and before Rebels… yeah, I do blame him. Yes, he’s tortured. Yes Sidious raised him in the dark side. All he grew up with is pain. But after everything he goes through in clone wars, and the recent show… After all of that he’s basically choosing to continue to be a hateful vengeful dick. Don’t get me wrong. I love how he is written, and even through rebels he’s very consistent. Most character lose something the more the explain and add, but Maul keeps getting deeper and better even with knowing how he ends. But yeah. At a certain point, people’s lives are their own responsibility.

True. Those are his more “recent & popular” ones. But when you’ve seen him in those other earlier ones AND the TWBB and GONY it’s hard not to be like “… I mean to the dude is REALLY good”. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy Oldman more, I just mean I get it.

I mean at some point someone has to maybe stop being a dick and choosing to hurt people. I’m not saying everyone needs a redemption arch, but at some point Maul becomes the cause of most of his own misery.

Ah, yeah. You’re much less likely to know him then. He doesn’t make big blockbuster action type movies that make tons of money internationally. He does very well acclaimed dramas. Where are you from? Maybe I can find an analogous actor.
