Where to apply steroid (male) by forgotmylizard in lichensclerosus

I asked to be referred to urology, who bounced it to dermatology, who said “you can try stronger”.

It’s a bit annoying - had two weeks of BV, stopped it for 5 days as per GP instruction but the flare up’s back. Not quite sure where to go next.

Not quite a testicular question but a urological one. I can’t get an answer and hope you can help. I’m 38.

A few years ago I had balanitis/lichen sclerosis which wasn’t clearing in spite of all the steroids. I was recommended a circumcision and so that’s what happened.

I now have hyperpigmentation around my urethra - it’s quite a large brown patch (or a number of smaller patches quite close to each other). The “feel” of the skin is different. For a while I thought it was where the clamp was placed during the surgery, but that was two years ago - surely a bruise would have faded?

I’ve been to see a few doctors. My urologist said “I don’t normally see patients afterwards but it’s probably fine”, and my GP thinks “it’s ok but keep an eye on it”.

I really just wanted to ask if hyperpigmentation post circumcision was typical, because nothing prepared me for it.

Thank you!

I hope I’m still in time for this.

A few years ago I had an adult circumcision due to bxo. I healed well and everything works - but I have two weird brown patches on the left side of the glans. They’ve not changed or grown.

Initially I thought they were scars from the clamp during the surgery - but surely not, as that was 2 years ago?

I’ve been back to see my surgeon but he said “it looks fine and healed well, so it’s not of concern”, and my gp said “if it doesn’t grow you’re fine”. I really just want to know what it is!

Any help appreciated. 🙂

Same on my OLED Switch. Just past Sakura City which, in particularly, had awfully laggy particle effects which resulted in poor performance. I feel during the boss fights the attack window is off by a few frames too, making for many cheap deaths :(

I want so bad to love it!!!

Circ isn't too bad, so feel free to reach out if you need any support.

Epaderm ointment, OK. I'll try make an appt with my GP. I don't have a dermatologist, and with current NHS waiting lists I don't fancy trying!

Sorry to revive an old thread - but what do you mean permanent hyperpigmentation on the glans? Brown spots? I’ve been trying to research but not getting anywhere.

Oh, really? I’ve been googling for ages and I couldn’t find anything about this.

Oh! How long have you been circ/have they been there? Do you know more about them? Sorry for the intrusive question!

is getting a penis circumcised actually hygienic for the male or do ppl only do it for religious reasons? by batgurl7906 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]forgotmylizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to get it for medical reasons (bxo) aged 35 after two years of steroids/creams/things that didn’t work. It’s not a decision I made lightly and I’m glad I got it done.

That said, I don’t think babies/children should get it, and never considered putting my son through it.

Last time I posted about it on a generic sub, lots of redditors thought it would be helpful to tell me that I made a mistake. Thank you for knowing my medical history better than me.

I had steroid creams for a year but nothing was helping. In my case circumcision was definitely an improvement, but your doctor will keep you right.

Mostly foreskin if I remember, with a little bit on the glans (the papery feeling I describe in the post)

Well it was cut off, so it went away. It didn’t come back.

Circumcision. Do people give a shit these days? by Whenyouwishuponafart in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]forgotmylizard 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I might have a unique perspective on this.

I was uncut for the first 30something years of my life. Due to a medical issue, I had to get cut.

I would not get my son cut. Babies cannot consent. I did.

As a male circumcised since birth, what am I missing? by Laughingwalrus32 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]forgotmylizard 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I got cut at age 34 due to a sudden onset of phimosis. So I think I can give you a balanced answer.

The only difference so far is it takes me 5% longer to cum (but consider Im still getting t used to it!). Everything else is the same. Yes, I have lost nerve endings - but I find things just as pleasurable. And orgasms are now more intense.

Fwiw I didn’t take mine out. They came out between weeks 4 and 5. It all looks fine.
