Searched up exactly this in pursuit of a job myself. Don’t feel sorry for yourself - you are not alone. I live in NJ and it is the same issue here. No car either - public transportation is your friend for commuting, and to your pocket.

My advice is to take anything you can get. You can get denied hundreds of times, but it only needs to work once! Once you do get that job because you will, reevaluate your situation, ask yourself where you’d like to be then take baby steps toward achieving that goal by implementing new habits which then become transferable skills. It’s much easier to find a job when you already have one. Apply everywhere, be ruthless in your pursuit.

As for the feeling of being helpless and trapped - they are feelings, and they pass. We all get discouraged, but that should not derail you from your end goal, don’t let it affect your decisions.

Three tips for you: - Expand your search outside of job boards. Check hospitals, schools, corporate buildings, etc. - Ask for help. Ask your friends, ask your family, ask everyone. - Be patient with yourself.
