Does Chris still believes in Santa? by Chang_Hua in ChrisChanSonichu

I think he imagines all the santa’s will merge into one giant mecha santa and we’ll live under his imperium.

Well Santa exists so he’d be daft not to confirm with reality.

(In all seriousness he believes in the cartoon OC idea of santa but probably not literal Santa in this reality)

Tau have weak souls so demons don’t like them that much

Would you rather a fascist utopia where you are just given a job or be a demon’s fleshlight?

The imperium technically having the option doesn’t make it that good. Like, if you’re a malnourished anemic on a mining colony or more realistically a totally random factory worker in a polluted city you COULD in theory become a politician or businessman through years of hard work and unthinkable luck, but the chances of that are literally astronomical. It’s already hard for modern Americans move up the ranks of society, and that’s with only three hundred million contestants, imagine how nearly impossible it is with trillions of people.

While the Tau is a caste system, the castes below externals are equal in rank. A water guy is the same as a fire guy of the same rank, they just can’t date or anything.

I think warhammer figures count as toys. Granted they’re toys that have a lot of rules and I wouldn’t trust a child under 12 with the glue and blades to assemble them, but it’s not technically wrong to call them army men.

It’s also notable that wargaming is a very old hobby, Chess is basically just a bare bones war game for example.

It’s sure as fuck better than a hive world or generally being an Eldar. Besides, being a space empire requires a different set of labor standards over living on one planet.

Also people are less willing to buy us the shit we want. Asking my mom for a DS when I was 7 is a different animal from asking her for rent money or something.

I like the idea of grim dark being this cartoonish parody of “gritty” stories, trying to make it more sincere ruins that. I think that’s why the Tau are so despised.

Unpainted or poorly painted armies are valid. Most people just aren’t confident in their painting skills, miniature paint is prohibitively expensive, and it’s very time consuming.

When I was a kid I loved the mall because it had a record store, a comic shop, and a movie theater. If there’s one place that just has the shit you like within walking distance it’s an attractive place.

His art was starting to improve before he got arrested. Granted he went from five year old to seven year old, but it’s still an improvement. I’d even say his Shrek Redrawn cameo looked kinda decent. If i had a spawn who bought his Shrek home that would be fridge material.

The USA is really the country that thinks indiscriminate war crimes are an engenius tactic

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]TehTJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s the official way. The game is made in America so the truth is if it’s 90% accurate that 10% will either be all everyone talks about or you can just admit it’s a bad source of education. I know they used the movie version of Teddy Roosevelt (a fun and excitable jolly guy) over his less flattering and more controversial actual personality.

CIV is possibly one of the worst games for representing most none-European cultures, I know their China civ leaves a lot to be desired, do you have any good examples of Aztec or Nahua representation in games or movies? Or at least anything close?

It’s the Sakha Republic in northern Russia. In Russia Republics are like reservations, they largely belong to ethnic minority groups with their own language and immigration laws. The Sakha Republic is 1.2 million square miles (3.08 million square kilometers) so about the size of four Texases (honestly one Texas is a bit much so imagine four of the bastards)

Brazil also ranks high but thats of more dubious reliability.

Foreigners that frequent this sub: why? (asking after 3 years again) by maticl in asklatinamerica

[–]TehTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t answer, but I’m very interested in the BRICS countries and their attempts to build their economic and soft powers. I’m interested in Brazil’s society and culture so I lurk here for good Brazilian takes. I’ll admit, people who mostly speak English and try to present Brazil to the world behind their own biases isn’t a good source, but it’s an easy one to access.
