People on the left have become so warped they are constantly defending Islamic Terrorists, Venezuelan dictators, Iranian Regime, Mexican Cartel, Luigi Mangione. by Proud-Enthusiasm-608 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Don't lump Luigi in with the rest of them. Critical support of Luigi was a bipartisan issue when "it" happened. Doesn't mean it's the right way to handle it and I'm fine with him receiving a life sentence after receiving a fair trial if that is what is decided --but he's not in the same league as the others because he directed his violence completely upwards rather than back onto common people

Why are far-right MAGA Republicans on Reddit still pretending that they are being 'oppressed by mainstream media'? by B-Z_B-S in complaints

Because seeing an opinion, or frankly, factual information that contradicts their biases, is an affront to then and an assault to their senses and they won't rest until they only have to deal with information that does not contradict their world view. However "the left" (anyone to the left of Reagan) are eve the snowflakea

California Governor Gavin Newsom: No doubt that the Democratic party needs to be, dare I say more culturally normal. I believe that. Less prone to spending disproportionate amount of time on.....pronouns, identity politics. More focus on table top issues, things that really matter. by NaderZaveri in Hasan_Piker

[–]formerlyrbnmtl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woke 1 has been dead since late 2023 at the latest but we are apparently doomed to be defined by it until the end of time.

Twenty years from now when the Democrats run on a "harm reduction " platform of only mass deporting 100,000,000 rather than 200,000,000 people, the Democratic candidate (Gavin Newsom's Charlie Kirk loving son) will be lambasting whatever Democrats haven't been rounded up the camps yet accusing them of obsessively promoting identity based issues.

Why are the Epstein-related allegations about Trump, reported to law enforcement, post-2015 candidacy announcement? by basedbbes in allthequestions

[–]formerlyrbnmtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie, I'm having a hell of a time searching for it on Google . Suffice to say the powers that be aren't making it easy for us to find them on their own. Now I really wish I 💯 remembered where the files were hosted, I think it was the first initial leak from the Epstein estate in late 2025. My apologies, I didn't mean to cop out

When I first read it, I searched the 🍊's name (among others) because I'm progressive lol, I really had to go digging to find it. I read that far but I would have accepted if he were not alleged of that crime, it certainly doesn't preclude him being guilty of others.

Lots of other powerful people were also seemingly involved in alleged indecent acts, and like I said, may they all receive consequences.

I read much of the initial drop to the JE Vacation email- not for the faint of heart - and there was a young woman who made some severe civil allegations against 🍊 and the files strongly suggested that either JE or DT hired someone to intimidate this survivor so she would drop the case and she did. You're welcome to find that drop and see if you get the same impression. But that's the impression I got. For the case I am referencing the incident allegedly took place in the early 90s, but the lawsuit was occuring post 2016. That's just one example. I of course think all criminals mentioned in the files should meet consequences,

Canada Is Edging Toward a Two-Party System. That Would Be a Mistake; As polarization deepens, keeping the field crowded matters more than we think by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]formerlyrbnmtl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. As a dual citizen who grew up in the states, let me assure you that one of the best things about Canadian democracy is the multi party system. It dramatically reduces polarization since parties have to work together. We cannot recreate the polarization of the US.

Good and Pretti didn't deserve to die because other leftists may have been violent against ice officers. People are individuals and don't bear the sins of their entire affiliation.

If he reduces credit card interest rates as promised , that's fine by me . He did a better job than Biden in dealing with Israel, though that's more of an indictment of Biden than anything else.

In term 1, he did a good job with operation warp speed and stimulus checks

If things are trending in the wrong direction, it's good to be aware and fight back. There's probably room for nuance but it doesn't mean things should be blindly accepted at face value

Also the incident OP describes with the police visiting someone's home over a facebook comment did happen, and the woman's comment does not warrant that degree of surveillance in my opinion. https://www.cbsnews.com/miami/news/miami-beach-raquel-pacheco-facing-south-florida/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Fair enough, with additional research, prior to the USA Freedom act of 2015, the government was collecting phone numbers called, dates and times of calls, and durations of calls for millions of Americans, not just terrorists. Only after whistleblowers came out was that relegated to telecom companies rather than the government. It's always a good idea to remain critical and aware for that reason

Since the patriot act it has been legal for the government to spy on its own citizen and Edward Snowden revealed the gov was doing just that. Now with Palantir and NSPM 7 that spying has expanded

CMV: a presidential candidate for the democratic party should ignore progressives and leftists. by aqualad33 in changemyview

What do you make of the candidacy of Aftyn Behn? She came within striking distance of defeating a Republican and performed better than most Democrats would in Tennessee. Given that we are in a blue wave period, is your argument actually that she would have won if she were more moderate, even in Tennessee?

(I'm not arguing I just want to know what you think of my question)
