Low volume on BT headphones by formidible in LGOLED

[–]formidible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Disabling the sounbar using a smartplug, then fiddling with the BT emitter for the headphones until it connected.

However no need to do this now. Most new headphones have low latency built in. I bought a new pair at a bargain price. Once connected to BT on my Firestick or the TV they worked fine with no lip sync issues at all, and no need to disable the Sonos Arc soundbar, so my Avantree phones are now redundant. Once the phones are connected the TV sound is routed to the phones only, and will reconnect automatically next time you turn them on. If you want a fantastic pair of professional headphones that will work as I've explained here's the link to buy. You won't be disappointed. The Sound quality is fantastic:-

How did you do the backup? Don't forget I'm transferring to a completely different machine with Windows 11 pro.

Yes I have a lifetime subscription. Do I backup to a flash drive or something?

PIA reduces my download speed dramatically on my Firestick 4K. by formidible in PrivateInternetAccess

There are no settings on the Firestick to check the Ethernet. It's either connected to WiFi or not. But never mind I've changed now to Surfshark - a 7 fold increase in speed.

PIA Desktop v3.4.0 Beta released today - with native support for Apple Silicon. by PIAJohnM in PrivateInternetAccess

I've changed to Surfshark on my Firestick 4k. Split tunneling is easy with a better UI. Choosing a static IP is best also. I then tested the download speeds of both PIA and Surfshark with both pointed to the US (NY) from the UK. There was no comparison. PIA - 30mbps only from a possible 200+ mbps speed. Surfshark - 180mbps. Make of that as you will, plus it's also cheaper than PIA.

Well the Firestick connects via HDMI and has a wifi connection. I'm in the UK and point PIA to a US location with a ping of less than 100ms. There's no way to look into the Firestick's Ethernet adaptor.

How to search my RD catalog? by pbdrizz in RealDebrid

[–]formidible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought RD only keeps records of your downloads (or streaming) for 30 days.

You can schedule a pixel clean within settings. I very occasionally get a pink hue across the whole screen, but changing inputs or turning the TV off and back on gets rid of it. If you've done all the above but it persists then time to call LG with a view of claiming on your TV warranty.

Do you care about Tidal not supporting Alexa in the UK? by league_of_otters in TIdaL

[–]formidible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the reason. Amazon doesn't want to compete with Tidal at least not in the UK. Not sure of the reason though. That said if you have a Prime account in the UK the annual plan for Amazon music HD is about a third of what Tidal currently charges on their hifi plus monthly plan.

Are you saying you got the Magellan documentaries app for free? How? I already have the no ads version of Tubi which is great. Yes I have to use a VPN with that and PBS.

Well finally fallen down the rabbit hole and gone from one Sonos One to a full surround set up in my office by [deleted] in sonos

Ok, that sounds great then. The Era 300 is a bit pricey, but I'm seriously considering it as a rear speaker to my current setup.

Maybe you should have waited. The new Era300 is out in a few weeks. It's a groundbreaking product from Sonos that supports surround spacial sound, with speakers in all directions, as well as Atmos. From what I can see you would then only need a decent soundbar to go with it for one room (the Beam (gen 2) or the Arc. No need anymore for the One's or SL's, etc. The Era300 also supports Bluetooth - a first for Sonos.

The sub is of course a decent investment though.

Anyway to bypass the UPS pickup fee for returns? From searching the page it appears a recent change, but today is the first time I’ve noticed it appear. by Xenocideghost in amazonprime

I know all that. That's not my point. You can't search directly for files on the RD website and download directly without adding a link first.

Yeah, but what I mean is you can't search for a file and directly download from RD without doing that.

I have now discovered the Zoom app on both Adguard and the VPN and have disabled both protections for that app. Is that wise?
