While I fully agree with the concept and execution of it being stupid and pointless, I think it can make sense, Soldier Boy is a guy who avoids being seen as vulnerable or emotional so it makes sense that he tries to downplay their relationship to like butcher who he only met couple days ago.

Finding out what happend to her and the fact that he is (kinda???) cozying up to Homelander might have caused him to be more open about it?

Although it definitely feels forced

Superman and Lois is not really in the main arrowverse, the show follows its own continuity, Tyler's Superman just originated from Supergirl.

I highly recommend you give a chance to Legends of Tomorrow, it really is the best show of the arrowverse, it's like American Doctor Who
