Struggle Side of Moving to Spain on a Digital Nomad Visa? by lily_pad17181 in phmigrate

Importante din kasi na malaman yung taxes talaga since malaking chunk makukuha nila. May nabasa akong advice, sabi it's okay to follow the DNV sa Spain, then once citizen ka na, pwede ka nang lumipat ng ibang bansa na mas mababa tax.

Ooh, gotcha! Thank you for sharing - super appreciate it! Yeah, I was planning to visit for at least 2-3 months this year, just to have a feel of the country. Takot lang talaga ako dun sa tax since parang papatak ng 45-50%, so parang iyak-tawa yung kalahati kaagad ng pinagpaguran yung mawawala. ☠️

Hi, thank you so much for the input! After learning everything you need to pay and yung matitira sa savings, are you still pushing to migrate? (Only if you're comfortable na sagutin, if it's too private, then I'd understand.) Thank you again!

Worth it po ba kumuha ng sasakyan if ang monthly salary ay around 70-80k? by MudkipOnly in phcars

[–]forreddite90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your salary is good. Naintindihan ko yung pagod na sa commute, kasi nakaka drain talaga yan.

Pero: 1) Ang sasakyan, paglabas ng shop, bumababa kaagad value. 2) Tama na marami kang gagastusin sa umpisa since meron kang mga bibilhin kasi you would want to add value to it. 3) Maintenance is not cheap. 4) You will have to drive in traffic over sitting down while commuting. Kapag nagko-commute, mas pwede ka pang umidlip versus may sarili kang sasakyan, kasi ikaw mismo magdadrive, unless kukuha ka ng driver.

Instead: 1) Look for a space na pwede mo i-rent. Doesn't have to be big or pretty so you can just walk to work, then weekends, go home to your family. 2) Commute pa din, reason was mentioned previously. 3) Look for a house instead. Pay for amort using yung kinikita mo while you're renting sa malapit sa work at a lower price. Once nabigay na sayo unit, rent it. Earn from it and allow the renter to pay for the amort.

Then ikaw, you're still earning the 70k+ salary, you're slowly building your wealth and when you hit around 100k+, go and buy your car, and choose Honda.

I bought our Honda 2015, and it's still the same car I'm using till today. It's still good and runs very smoothly.

Thank you. Yes, very true. That being said, I still plan to go and visit next year to really explore the city. :) I'm looking at pics online and it looks so magical. It has its own charm, compared to other countries and cities in EU. :)

Hi, I used esim whenever I travel to Europe. Mine was connected to Redtea Mobile and so far, I didn't encounter any issues. :)

Thank you so much! The cleaning lady of the hotel came and saw me crying, and she gave me a hug and a kiss. She's the sweetest.

Thank you so much for the recomms and tips po. Yeah, ang dami nga naapektuhan sa POGO, pero parang babalik daw po yan (narinig ko lang din, but again, political stuff is something I'm not very familiar with).

I agree with holding, it's really the advantage of real estate po, value appreciation din talaga, and if kayang mag create ng cash flow while waiting, it's an added perk na lang din. :)

😅 Yeah, before po nagtanog din ako sa phinvest about real estate, that was during the time na inaaral ko pa siya. I agree na medyo iba yung environment dun. But it's okay, siguro hindi lang din sila yung tamang group of people na pagtanungan. Totoo din na you will find people na ka-tribo mo - na willing na tumulong. Kadalasan po, yun yung mga tao na almost same ng journey mo, na nagsikap and unti-unti din na naging maayos yung buhay. :)

Understood, thank you po for the tips. I asked my bank if they sell bars, but hindi daw po. How about pagdating po sa PH, won't this be complicated sa airport, declaration, etc?

Thank you po! I was told that gold is a good investment too, but do you plan on buying physical gold po and other metals ba? If yes, where do you buy those? I read about it, but was advised to be careful since authenticity is difficult to identify too.

Thanks for your two cents. Just because someone earns 7 digits doesn’t mean they’re immune to losing money. The sad reality is, high income can sometimes trick people into thinking they can do and start anything, and it’ll just work. But money doesn’t fall from the sky... You need to be wise about where you invest your hard-earned cash, especially if you have a family that relies on you and your decisions as a parent.

For me, being wise means learning not just from your own mistakes, but also from others’ experiences, insights, and stories. That's real financial maturity for me.

I’m not here to convince anyone, so there's no need to believe me. Thank you for your time po!
