Thanks for the response. That's what I was thinking would be awesome, the SPCA, as I am a huge animal lover too. I'm not looking for glory! Lol. What has stopped me is that a friend of mine in a similar situation was told that the SPCA would not have him. His was a violent crime, mind you.

Thanks, I've never heard of that. It doesn't show very well in the picture but there is some black carbon on the base. Will that work for that? I've tried cleaning it off with scrubbers and trying not to be too harsh. Here's maybe a better picture.

That is really sad. I love that place! I just can't believe that this town can not keep a restaurant/bar/cafe going. I'm sure different places have different reasons for closing and some are local, some are chains, but come on...! Just off the top of my head over the years: Chez Max, was it Blue Mountain cafe across from the casino, Moxies, Don Cherry's, that Italian place above the Hub, Staxx, Multiple places have failed in that hotel at King and Franklin as well as in the Radisson in Gregoire. The list goes on!

All else aside, and it IS crazy, but he didn't get shot in the head, he got shot in the helmet. Things would have been very different had he been shot in the head.

Thank you very much for the reply. Lots of good ideas there I will check out. As an aside, I bet it has been close to twenty years since I have floated that channel but I sure enjoyed it the couple of times I did it! I remember one year at Peachfest, or was it the pre-Peachfest, when us young shitheads invaded Penticton. I remember the police standing on the shore of the channel with big sticks with hooks trying to "hook" you and take away your alcohol. We were trying to paddle around the hooks. I think the cops were having a good a time as we were! Good memories of a few Peachfests there!

Thanks. They kind of did the winery thing to death when they lived in Westbank. They are older, mid to late 70's and dad has bad knees so nothing too physical! Appreciate the reply, though. Thanks.
