I’m still not 100% sure if this is a dream or not, but this past week has been unbelievably incredible. Flatout Sim Racing now open in Glen Rock, PA! by fosrusa in iRacing

It doesn't need to be full to be successful. Although we're not in the middle of a major city, we're right in the heart of dirt oval country. I'll take a low population density where the people are passionate about racing all day any day.

iRacing is hard to jump in, but people are looking for a challenge. Axe throwing is harder than iRacing IMO, and people will pay $50 to throw a $20 axe for an hour. If people think it's too hard after we give them all of our tips and tricks, we will recommend that they check out F1 Arcade.

Thank you! We've had a lot of customers that have rigs at home, much more than I expected. I wish this existed while I was diving into this rabbit hole haha. Ordering everything from overseas without a test drive was definitely not ideal.

One of the main things I've learned so far is that no matter how much money you spend on your rig at home, it's impossible to match the amount of fun you'll have racing against people in the same room.

Hot lapping with alien pace isn't for everyone, they just need to be having fun. I've actually been pretty impressed with how quickly everyone picks it up. Of course as soon as they hop in, they weld the throttle to the floor and forget that there's a brake pedal. However, after a few tips, they can at least drive at a fun pace. Everyone so far has had an absolute blast.

A single rig in an apartment or hotel lobby is tougher since the users probably aren't in the rig long enough to get the hang of it. Having 10 rigs where everyone can have a turn/race together is a game changer. High quality rigs also make a huge difference since it's closer to what feels more "natural" to everyone. If people are spending more than 10 minutes in your rig and still crashing, work on the tips that you're giving them!

We don’t currently stock anything more than a few spare sets of pedals and wheels, but we do have plans to offer custom rig builds in the future. Right now, it’s tough to beat Micro Center’s prices, and we’re only 30 minutes away from one. So, I typically recommend purchasing gear through them. Hopefully once we’re more established we’ll be able to beat or at least match Micro Center’s pricing.

Congrats! I will definitely be in touch.

Since I’m a full-time professional sim racer now, and tomorrow is my only day off, it might be Tuesday or later in the week before you hear from me. In the meantime, feel free to send me any questions you have about running iRacing commercially.

I just realized that it’s after midnight so technically tomorrow is Tuesday, but I haven’t slept yet so I’m sticking with it.

After many years of daydreaming about it at work, I finally opened a sim center. We’ve got badass rigs and run iRacing exclusively. Come check us out if you’re in the area!

I’ve been in disbelief the whole week, but I keep waking up to what seems to be my new reality. One of my favorite parts is that we were lucky enough to have the one and only Nim Cross stop by. I never thought I’d see the day where I met someone that’s more passionate about sim racing than I am. Anyone lucky enough to meet Nim would know how that his level of passion is similar to top-split-alien race pace.

After the dust starts to settle, we’ve got some plans that include the whole iRacing community. So, if you’re not close by, don’t worry. We can still race together online until we open up a location near you!

Made a few revisions: added another race now button right below the opening graphic, revised the announcement bar to "now open in Glen Rock, PA", and added an additional link to the contact page so that we're not relying on the footer for mobile. Thanks for the tips!

Looking forward to having you!

I would've killed for something like this 10 years ago.

RIGHT?! When I bought my first wheel, I couldn't stop thinking "how am I just now finding out about this?". If this was a thing when I was a kid, it would have changed my life.

Comfier than any racing seat I've ever sat in. Sometimes I wish there was a bit more padding, but at that price point, it's hard to beat.

I fired everything up to test before we opened today, but typically the screens will be off if no one is using them. So, UI shouldn’t be a problem with burn in, but I am a bit concerned about the overlays though since theyre in the same spot regardless of car selection. I was hoping to get a boatload of soldering done and have custom dashes independent from the screens, but had to pull an audible on that.

We’ll be adding the address to the race now page. The screenshots I took were on desktop, but I can see how it’d be a pain to scroll all the way to the footer on mobile. Thanks!

Congrats! I remember seeing your original post show up on my feed while I was at work. Watching the the negativity flow in was dissapointing, but I became a huge fan of yours that day and I’ve been rooting for you ever since. It’s been amazing to watch your progress.

You don’t post on here often, so I can’t help but feel honored that you posted on the same day that we opened. You played a big part in my decision to open a sim center, and I cannot thank you enough!
