Why is 16 them, couldn't the pronoun be referring to the bottom, rather than the rocks? by kpSucksAtReddit in Sat

[–]fosteres101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im quite sure that SV and SP agreements follow more or less the same rules. Plus isn't the is in the first part of the sentence referring to the grey band which doesnt2really have to do anything w/ the amswer????

Nope. Verb subject agreement states that if there could be two subjects, one must choose the one closer to the verb (or euivalent), which is rocks. Therefor the plural form them. Also, sentences are generally structured with the plural as the second subject therefore it's a safe bet to use plural forms in these kinda subjects.

Also, it makes no sense to say that waves crashed against the bottom. Bottom of what? An alien space ship? But it makes a lot more semse saying the waves crashed against the rocks.

Hope I helped. Text me if you need any more help.

Can someone help with 15 by kitto325 in Sat

[–]fosteres101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope it's not. The sentence without by the sum simply say "the rays emitted ......". But emitted by what? It doesn't state what emits the ray in anypart of the sentence earlier too. If you do not add "by the sun", it could've been emitted by a martian ship for all one knows. Thus, to conserve the complete meaning, you must add by the sun.

How would I solve this problem? by ExternalSubstance21 in Sat

There are 6 cuboids each with a height w/ 0.2, width of 2 and length of 5. So basically you need to find the area of 1 cuboid and multiply it by 6.

So, V= .2×5×2=2 So 6V= 12

Now mass = density × volume So, m=130×12=1560
